Swarovski 58140 overview

  • 1Description

With phase-corrected roof prisms and enhanced optical coatings, Swarovski's black 10x30 CL Companion Binocular delivers high-contrast images with accurate true-to-life color and virtually zero distortion across the entire field of view. Styled and engineered with an ergonomic profile, a non-slip focusing wheel, and individually adjustable twist-in eyecups, they offer a comfortable viewing experience for long observation sessions. This version of the Companion includes a standard field bag, shoulder strap and wrist strap in addition to two objective lens covers and an eyepiece rainguard.

Swarovski's SWAROBRIGHT phase-correcting coatings applied to their premium roof prisms eliminate color fringing and aberrations for enhanced color fidelity and contrast, while their SWAROTOP coating on the other optical surfaces enhance light transmission and viewing accuracy. The outer lens surfaces are further coated with Swarovski's SWARODUR which improves scratch-resistance and allows oils, saps, and water to bead off which not only helps to keep the surfaces clear, it makes cleaning them easier.

The CL Companions utilize a compact and thin bridge construction with thumb depressions on the underside of the binoculars for steady, balanced viewing comfort. This trim form-factor is relatively light and small enough to pack and travel with ease. Its black non-slip full rubber armoring provides shock resistance, the the optical tubes are nitrogen filled to prevent internal fogging and makes them submersible to 13 feet.

Swarovski 58140 reviews

10x30 CL Companion Binocular (Black) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the Money - Great Company I started shopping expecting to walk out with a pair of binoculars for about $150. But then I tried a pair for 500, and then these for $+. Fortunately my wife was with me and when she got the chance to compare, it was clear that we'd walk out with the Swarovski Companion CL. A lot to spend, but if you are going to use binoculars, the quality really shines through. Now - 1 week later and 1 week before leaving for a two week trip to Ireland they were dropped on concrete. The optics were fine but the fitting that the strap goes through broke (lesson: make sure the strap is around your neck!) We shipped overnight to swarovski after calling them. They fixed them the day they received them and shipped them back to us in time for the trip. Great company, friendly service. ALB

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everyone needs a Companion For comfort, portability and quality, this a great choice in binoculars. You will be amazed by how powerful and compact these are--allowing you to keep them with you at all times. You won't miss out on important sightings because your gear is too heavy to lug around.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome. I use these for bird watching almost every day. I don't know how I got by without them. The level of clarity and brightness is superb. Even if I'm looking at something really far away, I can still see it clearly and make out the detail because of the contrast against the background. Its unbelievable. They are light and small too. I got them just before going to Ireland and I'm so glad I did. Even in the early morning, when it's still kind of dark out, I could see birds in the trees I could have never seen before. I can also focus on something really close up and the detail is amazing. And you can get them wet, no worries if it starts raining, no big deal. They come with lens covers that attach and flip down, which is pretty cool. That way you can't lose them. They are just the right weight and size too. I almost went for the pocket ones, but these are just right. I got the green ones, they look nicer than the black I think. I wear glasses and had no problem using them. I upgraded to these from the Nikon Action 7x35 and it was like going from Corolla to a Porsche. The Nikons were great, until I used the Swarovskis.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Swarovski Binoculars Greet Challenger My new binoculars arrived a few days before the Challenger Space Shuttle flew over the San Francisco Bay Area on the back of the 747. The view I had was CLEAR and crisp. It made a history making experience even more memorable.
