Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 Reviews
Just got it

I just got the lens a few weeks ago and the weather has been so bad that I haven’t been able to take any significant photos yet. When I do I’ll be able to give a more complete review. So far I’m a bit disappointed that I have to use the ISO changer on the camera rather than on the lens. The dealer said it should work but it doesn’t. I took a few out of the window shots with it and they turned out good. Bought it to do astrophotography and landscape photography.

I purchased this specific lens as an ad-on to my lenses. I wanted something really wide but not a fish-eye , and this lens is great for that purpose

The Live view button on my Nikon D500 does not ...
The Live view button on my Nikon D500 does not work when the lense is that F2.8 aperture, the moment i turn the aperture of the lense to F22, the live view button works, does anyone faced this issue, is this an issue?
That is typical for the operation of the Nikon D500 when using lenses with aperture rings, such as the Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC lens or a Nikon D lens. Usually, the camera will display a fE E error, which indicates you'll have to set your lens aperture to the lowest physical aperture for the camera to operate.

question
I have the canon version but it thinks it is an auto focus lens how do I talk to the chip to tell it to be manual? yes it won't let the shutter release unless it confirms focus on my 6D!John
This is a fully manual lens. The focus confirm chip enables the use of your camera's focus confirm feature. If you are having trouble with your camera firing witht his lens, you may want to try disengaging the shutter lock setting on your camera's menu.
