    Canon 6469A012AA reviews

Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM Autofocus Lens is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 120.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great people lens. I bought this lens for my new Rebel XSI to take to a retirement ceremony. What I needed was a moderate telephoto lens that could capture the ceremony on an elevated stage AND provide a moderate wide-angle lens for group photos. This lens did not disappoint. Besides being very reasonably priced, the results were outstanding. This is a very sharp lens. It is well built and has a heft to it that is reassuring. What's not so great about this lens? After shooting 300+ images in two days, I have no complaints. Here's a suggestion: for vacations, the better all purpose lens would be the wider angle and shorter telephoto lens that comes with the XSI kit. ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect lens for beginners I bought this lens second hand for my rebel. It is an awesome lens to have on the camera all the time. i found that the kit lens didn't offer enough zoom but his one is perfect. It doesnt really compare to my 70-200mm 4.0 L but it is the lens I have on 75% of the time. Anyone considering the XT or the XTI should consider this lens and buying the body. Expertise: Serious amature Problems Encountered: For some reason, when i'm not taking the pictures, the unexperienced people want to zoom with the focus ring.. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lens for everyday use! Love it! I purchased this lens on secondhand, it was a kit lens back in 1991. Having both a Rebel XTi and a film Rebel, I wanted to have a lens that was interchangable with both cameras. The kit lens I have from my 8 year old Rebel is much nice than the current kit lenses, but I wanted something with a little more versatility. This lens is it! My primary subject are my kids and this lens is great. I've taken some great shots outdoors and indoors. I would highly recommend it to someone who is starting out and is looking for a general multi-use lense that is better quality than the kit lens. Both my brother and sister have since purchased this same lens for their everyday use. Highly recommended by all of us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Lens This lens is great for its price. The clarity is superb and exactly what I wanted. I upgraded to this from the kit lens supplied with my Rebel XTi and the focus speed, image clarity, and quality of this lens are much higher. I recommend this lens to anyone not wanting to spend a small fortune. So far I have found no cons in this equipment.I use this to shoot sports photography. At football games I can use it without flash on 1600iso and get very acceptable shots. It is much better than I had expected for the $ price. In bright light the lens performs! My old lens caused and impure and gray color cast, this lens does not. I do not see how one could ask for a better lens than this for under $400.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice all around lens A great versatile lens, and a much better lens than the kit lens that comes with the digital rebels. Produces good color and is very sharp, considering the cost. I have used it on my rebel XTi and my film rebel Ti and I have been very pleased with the results. Have had no real problems except would like a larger aperture, but can't complain due to the cost. I would definitely recommend this lens to someone looking to upgrade from a kit lens or someone looking for a reasonably priced all around lens. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value for replacement to kit lens! For $ this is a great lens for replacing your 18-55mm kit lens. At 28-105mm, it provides great telephoto, much higher quality build, and larger aperture at the higher zoom. I'm still keeping my 18-55mm since there are times when you need the wide angle. However, I've got this on my xti as my walkaround lens. The build quality is much higher than the 18-55mm. For low light or indoor shooting, you'll want a faster lens -- 3.5-4.5 isn't quite fast enough, but it's not any worse than the kit lens in low light. It's true other reviewers say about the quiet USM motor focusing-- very nice, esp. if you've grown accustomed to noisy kit lens. For the price, I think this is a great value. There are better lens out there-- but you'll have to pay much more-- based on my shopping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lightweight normal zoom I use this lens with my 1D, usually wide open. It's very sharp, comparable to the Tamron 28-75 but a couple stops slower. The USM motor for focusing is very quiet and it focuses fast, and it's actually not bad to manual focus with. With the hood, there's not much flare, and it looks great all the way across the frame. It actually seems to be sharper wide open than at f/8.Very compact and lightweight compared to the larger aperture glass, a good lens to cover the gap between a 16-35 and 70-200, or as a single walkaround lens. Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Fair Lens... I needed a lens of small size to be an average walk about lens. The lens performs well as for that purpose, for taking or doing general photography but however, I was disappointed in its performance as being a modest macro, as suggested on the lens barrel. Worth the money however, if you need a good all round lens for snapshots and travel photos. Would I recommend it, I suppose so. It performs well as I mentioned for general photogaphic purposes and it is also well built. Colors are good, as well as sharpness and I noticed little or no edge/color distortion at the wide angle and at wide aperatures. However if one wants a really good all round lens, might I suggest the EF 28-135mm IS Wide Angle Zoom from Canon, a bit heavy but worth it. I also ordered with this lens, a UV filter for protection against scratches, dirt and grime, and of course the dedicated lens hood. Might I suggest a regular rubber collapsable lens hood. They fit better, are much cheaper, and more practical I think. However, this is but one persons opinion and opinions as we all know are like belly buttons, we all have them.
