Clik Elite Venture 30 Overview

The gray Venture 30 Backpack from Clik Elite is a day tripper's delight. For heading out on a quick photo expedition to the outback, this bag has it all. In addition to accommodating your pro DSLR, 3-4 lenses plus accessories, it has a 3L (100 oz) hydration bladder essential for active endeavors while even the side pockets are designed to hold water bottles. You'll never want for thirst.

The bag is made from Clik's water-resistant nylon and supplied with an easy-to-use rain fly that can be quickly set up during a sudden downpour - or even if you're crossing a stream and want to keep your gear extra dry. Most scenic photographers need a tri or mono-pod and the Venture 30 is equipped with a tip-out sling that will center your "pod" in the center of your pack. The harness system is fully adjustable and contains both waist belt and sternum strap for steadying the pack while traveling.

The interior is set up to be arranged in whatever configuration you need to safely hold your gear. Adjustable and padded dividers will create individual compartments for your DSLR and lenses. The top zippered pocket is for smaller items like cards, batteries and other personal items that need to be quickly accessed. Rugged zippers guard the front compartments and allow you to open only that part of the pack that you need to retrieve specific gear.

Clik has designed the harness system to be ergonomic and comfortable while in use. You'll be able to fine tune the pack with variable height, width and angle of the wide shoulder straps to create a perfect fit. The waist belt is also wide and connected with a bi-directional quick-release buckle that cradles your hips. There's also a sternum strap for additional security and balance.

Backed by Clik Elite's lifetime warranty, the Venture 30 is a slim, trim and rugged pack for anyone who likes to get off the beaten path to where real images are made.

Great Pack

Excellent design. Adjustable shoulder straps and the important waist belt which takes the weight off of your shoulders and back. The lower portion of the pack is the padded camera section with a hook and loop divider system. The upper main pouch is for additional items either photo related and/or for a snack, jacket or other items. There is another smaller zip pouch good for a memory card pouch and perhaps a few filters or other small bits. I use this pack for a Fujifilm mirrorless kit and Lee filters. While this pack will fit a minimal DSLR kit (1 body, 2-4 lenses), since this is a narrower pack which doesn't devote the entire space to camera Velcro padded dividers I think it perhaps it better suited to mirrorless. It easily holds 2 Fujifilm bodies and 3-4 lenses, batteries and other items in the top pouch. On the outside a full size tripod carries nicely. You can also open the divider between the camera section and the top section to make room for a longer lens or allow the pack to get used for non photo hiking. It has a slot for a water bladder however I have not used this feature yet. It does have water bottle pouches as well and sinch straps to tighten the pack when not fill to overflowing. My only wish would be if the camera compartment opened from the wearers back (like the Lowepro Flipside), not so much for security, but to keep the part that goes against your back clean when you lay the pack down on the ground. Also an organization zip pocket or two perhaps on the interior would be welcome. Otherwise this is a quality, well designed, well assembled hiking style pack with a great waist belt, adjustable shoulder straps and lightweight plastic frame makes this pack carry well.

the construction materials are really good, maked it to last a life time, the way is was desinged is simple but efective, the side is yust perfect to big not to small, very confortable. And the price at B&h...well you can't beat that. the ability to carry a big tripod is a plus, a perfect backpack for the outdoors. Very confortable and well made.

This bag is great for carrying your camera gear on a trek or hike. I really love the adjustable hight of the shoulder strap. Being tall that allows to have the bag perfectly adjusted to my size. The only problem I had, and it's a minor one, is even though the specs say that it can hold a 100oz water bladder, well mine doesn't fit. a 70oz one though fits perfectly.

Just what I needed

This backpack holds my D800 with lens perfectly. I also have another lens, flash and my lee filters with enough room to spare for a light day excursion. Fits my back comfortably, it hugs you.

Great Quality - A Few Issues

The construction of this pack is superb. Very well built. I have two concerns: 1) This pack is NOT made for hefty folks. It's very adjustable everywhere but the waist strap. I was able to rig it to work but it's not ideal. 2) Also, it could have more small pockets for odds and ends. It has a very sleek exterior but more pockets would be handy. I would recommend this pack. I researched A LOT before I bought it. This is a great size and has room for ample camera gear AND other personal items. Seems a lot of packs have one or the other.

A well-made pack

After searching for weeks online to find the perfect pack for my hiking/landscape photography adventures, I was elated to find the Venture 30 on sale here. I need something that will protect my gear and still allow me room for other hiking essentials. I fit my D7100, Nikon 12-24mm f/4, 50 f/1.8 and my 35 f/1.8 into the padded compartment easily enough, along with room for my circular polarizer, variable ND filter, and cable release. Upon receiving the pack, I can see it's very well-made and should be very durable. However, I'm 6'4 with a fairly long torso and this pack is a little small for my frame. I really had to let the shoulder straps out to get the waist belt down on my hips. I knew that I'd have trouble finding a pack to fit me perfectly anyway. I know I'm outside of normal. :) My only complaint about the design of the pack (and my reason for only 4 stars) is the lack of pockets. It has a small pocket up on the top-front, but fitting headlamps, memory cards, batteries, filters, adapters, etc. in it is impossible. It would be nice to have more divided and compartmentalized pockets for organizing the small gear that we photographers carry.

This looks like it's going to be a good bag. It's made of high quality materials and does have a rain cover. I purchased it to use as an airline carry-on and it looks like it's going to do the job.

Is there room to attach a sleeping bag to the bottom for overnight treks?
Asked by: Rebecca L.
You could probably hook something up but its not really designed for overnite camping not enough room for cameras ,lenses and other camping gear, however you can totally remove all the camera partions and make it one large pack, there are much better packs for camping but as a carry all camera pack its tops

According to the product video, the water bladder pocket is located between the user's back and the backpack. Does anyone have any experience with carrying a full water bladder in the back pack? It seems like the bulging water bladder pushing on your back would make for an uncomfortable carry.

I personally hate water bladers so never put one in my pack, side pockets make it easy to cary lots of water in insulated bottles and more room in back of pack for even more if its that hot or a long journey

Will this fit a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Lens?
Asked by: Amy R.
Hi Amy,I'm a huge Clik Elite fan. I've had the Contrejour 40 for 4 years and love it. Needing a smaller everyday bag I recently ordered both the CE Venture 30 and the CE Escape. While the bags are roughly the same size, the camera bays are vastly different. I have Nikon 70-200 and found the camera bay in the Venture 30 to be too small (nearly 50% smaller). The Escape has plenty of room for the 70-200 2.8, a 24-70 2.8, 14-24, a 50 1.4, multiple flashes, accessories.... I hope that helps. =)- Mawuena
