    Sabrent SBT-EKU25 reviews

USB 2.0 to 2.5" IDE Aluminum Hard Drive Enclosure (Black) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works just fine Works fine, pretty basic. At first I thought it had the wrong connectors, then realized my hard drive, taken from a dead laptop, had a M-F adaptor on it that I just had to remove.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Redududant USB cable connector The item comes with a USB power/date cable, 3 USB connectorts that actual confuse me, it need several tries before I can find a correct one to connect, and to be read by my computer. Beside this type of connectors doesn't compitable with other type of protable/external hard drives. Somehow, for a price like this case, I think I cannot expect a better product design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great troubleshooting old dead PowerBook My fine old (black) Mac Powerbook finally died. I would fire it up every year or so just to admire its keyboard and big screen. It's the one Sarah Jessica Parker pecked on in Sex and the City. But I wanted to get some files off my lifeless relic. What to do?Went to a service center in Manhattan, was quoted high diagnostic fees (dead motherboard seemed to be the preliminary verdict). I decided to buy an enclosure for the PowerBook's 2.5 inch drive, allowing me to at least determine whether the hard drive was still alive. I was able to find the older IDE-type Sabrent enclosure (not SATA) at B&H for $ bucks, including USB cabling and even a little Phillips head screwdriver. And it's aluminum. It gets power via the USB 2.0 cabling.Connected the now external 2.5-inch HD to my new Mac, and saw the drive's contents right away. Just have to read some old AppleWorks files. Not a bad way to keep an old computer around, or at least its contents.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent. A simple and perfect solution to my problem of a computer that failed but the hard drive was not affected. I installed the hard drive into the enclosure, plugged it into the USB port of a different computer and I had access to everything on the drive just as it was when in the original computer. Very, very nice and a great relief, as well!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sabrent Harddrive Enclosure I purchased this USB 2.0 to 2.5 IDE Aluminum Hard Drive enclosure to take advantage of a small laptop harddrive that worked fine but needed upgraded to a larger drive. This Sabrent enclosure fit the bill very nicely. The enclosure is made of sturdy aluminum and went together very well, even has a fitted pouch to protect the assembly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from IDE Well... I was looking for Sata and don't quite know how I got IDE. I suppose I need to look closer next time. I did happen to have an old IDE drive laying around. SO this product works as advertised. Too bad the drive was only 40 GB, I have flash drives bigger than that...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't Judge a book by its cover It wasn't until I received it that I realized it was not what I needed. The description of the product should have stated that it was for a notebook hard drive. This would have made a difference as I am not a computer expert and needed a case for a desktop hard drive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Saved me lots of time! Ordered this as a recovery tool for a laptop that would no longer boot (not my laptop). Instead of spending time troubleshooting the laptop I was able to recover all files from the drive using this enclosure. The laptop is now a paper weight.
