This Filter Adapter from Bower is used to mount a 67mm filter to the lens of a Canon PowerShot SX30 IS, SX40 HS, SX50 HS, and SX60 HS camera. The dedicated design of this adapter mounts directly to the front of the lens and does not affect zoom control or focusing performance.

Filter Adapter for Select Canon PowerShot SX Cameras is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Save your money You must have this adaptor to attach any lens filters to the Canon SX30is; however, it is quite easy to misalign the threads when adding a filter, making it extremely difficult to remove the filter. Also, you cannot attach this ring (or any filters) when using the lens hood, and in my opinion. the lens hood is more useful. I bought a set of Opteka filters to go with this ring adaptor (from another site) and will be returning them as they do very little, if anything, to improve the quality of my photos. I keep trying to make my wonderful bridge camera do things that an SLR can do, but not all things are possible!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pops off and never stays on The Canon adaptor was not available when I ordered this one (I was due to travel just a few days before its delivery) Twice, after very carefully attaching it to my Canon PowerShot SX50 HS camera, this adapter has popped off, sending my B+W Kaesemann MRC Nano filter crashing five-and-a-half feet to the ground. Should I have tried a third time to prove that B+W makes amazingly durable filters? Thankfully, that Bower White Elephant is lightweight, so carrying it on my two-month travels through Europe was not a problem. I have put it aside. Buy it if you like taking risks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It's a joke In a nutshell: this Bower adapter is difficult to mount and it's flimsy. So, if you're going to use it to hold a filter and NEVER touch it again, MAYBE will last. But if you're planning to change filters or god forbid, to mount a polarizer... be ready for a nasty surprise: it WILL break. Mine broke almost immediately, despite the extremely careful way I handled it. Did I get a bad one? Who knows. Anyway I'm not going to get another one for sure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pro and Con Purchased one of these last May. This last week it split. It is made of plastic. It did fit the SX50 well and was easy to use. I was lucky I did not loose my filter when it split. I did read some reviews on metal adapters and noted that some of them were hard to install to the camera and might also strip the camera threads. So, I will be purchasing another plastic one, which would be more compatible. Just wish it was stronger material.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poorly performing product I intended to attach various accessories to my Canon SX50HS model camera, such as protection filter, polarizer, diopters. Each of these are problematic if lost while in the field. The adapter is an injection molded plastic part that bayonet mounts to the front of the camera lens. It is a friction fit. The unit I received appeared to be incorrectly molded, and therefore did not mount properly, nor could be trusted to adhere to the lens adequately. It would dislodge easily with attached accessory, potentially resulting in both replacement cost, inconvenience and lost photo opportunities if this occurred in the field. Although it is an inexpensive bit of kit, it certainly is not worth the risk, considering the efforts we put into taking photos. Not recommended if you value your accessories, wallet and time. HOWEVER, this was probably a defective unit from production line. Purchase only after recognizing the risk. B&H refunded my money without any difficulty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Pleased with product and service Filter Adapter for Select Canon SX Cameras by Bower I use this adapter on my Canon SX50> I am very pleased with the adapter and would not have realized I needed it until I talk with Abram who was most helpful. This adapter really helps to keep edges from being cut off your picture.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gotta have if you want to use a filter I wanted the original Canon adaptor, but it was out of stock, plus the lower price of this one means I could get the Canon Lens Hood AND a filter adaptor for less money than some other websites wanted for just one or the other alone. The lower price also means you could buy more than one, so you don't have to fiddle with removing and installing different filters, you could just leave each adaptor on each filter and then can quickly change from one filter to another. So far, no problems with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works just fine I use it to hold permanently an UV filter in front of my SX50 and I have no complains whatsoever. I don't know if the Canon filter adapter would be a better buy, in terms of sturdiness, in case of frequent usage of different filters, though.
