The DKS-25 large black Photo/SLR/Laptop Sling Backpack from Vivitar is a triple threat when it comes to buying this type of pack. It can be worn in three different ways and therefore serves as a durable pack for both transport and shooting. It's made from tough Oxford Fabric 600D.

When worn as a traditional backpack, it carries more than its weight in equipment including a 17" (43.2cm) laptop. When worn as a shoulder bag, you have rapid access to your gear through the zippered lower half of the bag. When used as either a left or right sided sling-style bag, the quick access zippered side pockets (on either side) give you even faster access to your equipment. An additional mesh storage pocket is supplied for small accessories.

The bag is essentially divided in half with the top being used for personals and smaller items in their own foam-padded compartment. The lower half is the main compartment where your gear is safely stored within additional foam-padded, adjustable dividers. There's an additional zippered mesh accessory compartment for batteries, media cards, cleaning cloths, pens or even business cards.

Carrying a tripod is no problem since the bag comes with connecting straps on the back that will hold your pod securely. This is a relatively lightweight pack that is functional, durable and flexible for the shooter who likes to be outside and constantly on the move. It's carried by two wide, padded and adjustable shoulder straps that are supported by an adjustable chest strap that helps keep the pack steady and centered on your back. The waist belt is also adjustable and helps prevent the pack from swaying while hiking or climbing. There's a comfortable back pad and easily removable and deployable rain cover for when the weather turns sour. Finally, if you're just trying to get the pack out of your car trunk, Vivitar has added a strong top carry handle.

Can be worn as a sling-style bag on either left or right side - accessory pockets on each side provide rapid access to equipment
Multiple versatile storage compartments - top and bottom halves separate personals and photo gear
Internal, adjustable foam-padded dividers
Accessory mesh side pockets for small items like batteries
Padded shoulder straps, chest strap and waist belt add stability
Rain cover provides additional protection from the elements

    DKS-25 Photo/SLR/Laptop Sling Backpack, Large (20 x 12 x 9", Black) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 161.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Bag! It is almost the exact same bag as the Tamrac Evolution 9 backpack. Its has all the same features as in a 17inch laptop compartment and also a lower section to put a DSLR plus 3-4 lenses, plus a tripod holder to attach your tripod, Ive got a 701hdv on 190cx sticks and it fits great, it has a built in foot harness to support the bottom of the tripod in the middle of the bag centering the weight. Also has a rain cover for those wet days. My only complaint is there could be some more side compartments for a water bottle/small container. This would be a great backpack for travel or just around town. Can't go wrong with this one at the price....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product with some limitation Material is very good and holds camera with 3 lens, flash and charger, extra batteries etc in main compartment easily. Very good top and side pockets for extras and laptop charger, mouse. Holds laptop very well. Design can be better if side access have more safety. Make sure we zip up all the way properly otherwise our gear can fall down easily. There should be some extra velcro on sides to help hold camera better and allow us to reorganize the way we want. Extra peddling is also required on bottom. But I manga it by adding some foam and old bag padding. My only fear is, - if I ever forget zip up main compartment openings, it will make me cry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Case for Big Laptops I've had this bag only a couple of weeks so I don't have much to report. The bag is stitched well, zippers are high quality. I've got a 17.3 MSI laptop in the bag as well as two power supplies, two mice, a set of wired and wireless headphones, a headset amplifier, along with two full-size Canon cameras, batteries, memory cards, chargers, and four lenses. The pack is very light before all the stuff goes in, and its' still light when you get it all in. I've taken two short trips with the bag and have had no issues. It's too bad it didn't come with wheels and a pull-out handle, but I'm guessing that would cost another $-$ so I'm completely satisfied.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for transporting gear, not so good to work from. This backpack is good as a back pack, I find it easy to use for transporting a single camera and a few accessories, but there is not enough small pockets for items such as filters, extra batteries, note pads, and lens cleaning stuff. The inside storage is a little flimsy, I tried several ways of partitioning and have trouble with the items being secure. I will use it as a backpack for transporting, but will still need a small accessory bag to fill out my needs. The bag does not stand well on its own, no stiffners in the bottom or sides. Didn't pay a lot for it, B&H pricing is good, so I guess you get what you pay for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great and big backpack It is perfect for my Nikon D3200 with battery grip and Nikor 18-55 and 55-300 lenses. There is also lot of space for all filters, remote control, flash, cables Vivitar DKS-25 is big backpack and I use it most for mountaineering because I can put some basic stuff in upper pocket of backpack. DKS-25 is really big, so think twice do you really need that big backpack. There are also smaller models of same backpack. It is very easy to get your camera form backpack without putting it on the ground. There is great solution for wearing tripod that is bigger size than backpack You cannot expect better backpack for this price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well Built for all my uses Used when I go on long cycling adventures on my rode or mountain bike. Works well for me. Carries all computer (17.3 screen)and camera gear I need. So far it has held up well.(I am very hard on all gear I own).Would have given it 5 stars, but adjusting the shelves in the lower camera section take time and a college degree. LOL.. But once you figure out the best way to set it up for your needs you are golden. And I do not see a reason to ever change it again, so it is a 1 time problem. It also has taken the place of my regular computer carrying case due to the way it is setup. Shipping and packaging from B&H was 5 stars.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice bag w/ some negative The Large bag is really big for a D5000, 3 lenses and other accessories. I think small is the right size for my camera and stuff. The dividers are made of poor materials (nylon like) and the stitchings are bad ( it ripped on my first use). Contacted customer service for the dividers and still waiting after a month. I like the over-all design and function, but the craftmanship is poor (not durable)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good bag. Good sized and featrues, though the materials are as roughneck as I wish it to be. It is well constructed, it has many great features and a very good size, but I feel I can't just go al the way, without feeling it could start wear and tear in some areas. Said that, it is very usefull. I work with HDSLR, and could fit my camera, lens, some basic rigs, follow focus, audio recorder, on-camera mount a basic first-aid kit, a basic tool kit and some accesories, and it is impressive the way it all fitted perfectly. Great buy for the price, and for a run and gun type of videographer.
