Ilford 1769900 overview

  • 1Description

A versatile paper for general black and white enlargements, this box of 100 sheets of 5 x 7" Multigrade IV RC DeLuxe Paper from Ilford features a glossy 1M surface finish that is smooth and reflective in order to achieve noticeably deep black tones and a long tonal scale. Its bright white base tint delivers a cool-to-neutral image color, and it responds well to select toners, especially selenium, for increasing the effective print lifespan. As a variable contrast paper, it responds to seven full grades of contrast during printing, when using multigrade filters, and it is suitable for printing both conventional black and white negatives as well as chromogenic black and white negative films. Additionally, the paper can be processed using standard black and white chemistry in either trays or using machine processors.

Ilford 1769900 reviews

Multigrade IV RC DeLuxe Paper (Glossy, 5 x 7", 100 Sheets) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long time favorite / paper negatives Years ago when my job was working in a darkroom, my choice for paper was always Ilford. Same for film but I digress. Purchased this paper with glossy finish as opposed to pear as my main intent for this paper was for pinhole cameras. If you are using this for paper negatives please keep in mind that your range of tone is usually going to be on the very high and very low range only. Not a lot of mid-range tones unless you fashion a filter to go over your lens, which will increase your exposure time.As a side note I've found that the best ISO film speed equivalent is to us ISO 6 when calculating exposure when used as paper negative.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good paper I use this paper when making my pinhole pics. Love the contrasts. There is nothing to dislike about this paper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great paper! I use Ilford paper anytime I'm making a print, but I also wanted to get some to shoot on with my view camera. (To make the development process quicker and easier) I love Ilford products, and I love this paper. Great for enlarging or using in pinhole cameras, or in my case 5x7 view cameras.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice paper, even for beginners! I like this paper! it is the first I print on and it develops itself like a charm, even in Kodak Dektol! Superb pictures... with almost no need for thermometer! I had no problem using it at room temperature and got some nice results! I don't think I would buy something else than from Ilford!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value, great looking prints I work in my black & white darkroom a few hours a week. Many of the negs I print are old negs with softer contrast. This paper brings up the contrast level where I need it to be. I get really nice looking prints using this paper. I will be buying a LOT more of this grade. Nice stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Darkroom must have! I use more 5x7 than anything, even ordered a box without realizing I have another full box in the darkroom. Goes to show how much I rely on this paper. Great tone range and very forgiving to those learning the craft. It's a must have for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Probably the best in market I think there is nothing to say. The ILFORD paper is one of the best in market. Excelent tones and medium contrast. Ideal for any kind of pictures. I must say that the matte paper is better than glossy, but it's compensate by the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use for a new darkroom operator This paper is my first box of photo paper. Just set up my first darkroom and didn't have anyone to advise me. I just followed the instructions on illford's web site and the prints look great. A bit of a warm tone is noticeable.
