XSORIES WEFE-102464 reviews

Weye Feye is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work with flash photography I would not recommend this product if you plan to use flash with your camera (speedlight or strobe). If you connect this to the camera the sync port or hot shoe will not function and your flash regardless of type or connection method will not fire. I've tried multiple cameras, USB cords, sync cords, pocket wizard, paul c buff cyber commander different flash heads and none of them will work if Weyefeye is connected. When you disconnect Weyefeye from the camera, the flash will fire on all methods without problem. There is absolutely no response from support from the multiple inquiries I've sent. I should have spent a little bit more for the cam ranger and I would advise you to do the same.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No Support I purchased the Weye Feye to save some money over the CamRanger. It looked to be a better made device and arrived in a nice custom packaging. It has a orange, rubber, sleeve to protect it from light bumps. It also comes with a charging cable. I'm not sure I would say it's water proof or drop proof. There are 2 velcro straps on the back to attach it to a tri-pod, which is very handy. After trying to set it up with my Canon 7D and iPhone 4, it ask to install a firmware update to the Weye-Feye. After rebooting from the Fimware upgrade I tried to connect to my 7D again and the Weye-Feye kept dropping connection with the camera. I emailed their support twice and have not back from their support. (almost 2 weeks later now), I finally tried a different USB cable (this one shielded) and the connection was more stable. After trying it out with my iPhone, I couldn't get the Live view from the Weye-Feye to show a live exposure view and could only see my exposure after taking the photo and reviewing the image. It magically started working a few days later.Word of warning. These guys have no support for this device in the US. I emailed them twice in the past 2 weeks and as of this review haven't heard back. Also their forum went down the day after I got it and hasn't been up since.I'm giving it 2 stars because it does what it's advertised to do but it's very frustrating to not have support of some sort and the online manual and booklet it came with give basic instructions and no trouble shooting.I'll be sending mine back to trade for a CamRanger as it's more widely used in the US and have active support.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice product. Performs as advertised The Weye Feye is a very nice addition to my Nikon D-90 gear. It allows me to use my tablet or phone as if it was tethered to the camera and control many parameters (aperture, speed, focus, bracketing, trigger, delay trigger, etc.). It gives me a preview of the shot, like using the Live feature of the camera, with the big advantage that the display is way better and can be far away from the camera.Be careful not to confuse it with the Weye Feye S which is cheaper but ONLY allows you to access remotely the memory card in the camera. The mounting, unfortunately is very poor (just a couple of velcro straps to fix the device to a leg of the tripod). They did a much better job in the Weye Feye S regarding this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very cool tool that is a bit fussy The Weye Feye works beautifully at allowing you to see and download photos taken on a DSLR into you smart phone. I like having the ability to choose a photo from my camera and downloading it into my phone to use on social media sights or to email for work purposes. The sequence of connecting the Weye Feye to cables and camera and powering them up must be done in order or it will not connect. The ability to control the DSLR camera remotely and seeing what the camera sees on your smart phone is another great tool. It works well, but can be a bit slow and fussy. Still, it does work. I do recommend the Weye Feye. It is a good tool and a great digital toy. You will need the usb cable that originally came with the DSLR camera, or a replacement, to use the Weye Feye.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you need WiFi connectivity buy this The Weye Feye is easy to use and set-up. Out of the box and ready to go, after a full charge, in less the ten minutes. One device for all Nikon Cameras I've tested it with, D300, D700, D800, D4, and D3. One Device for all of them, the Weye Feye is a very inexpensive alternative to the Nikon Brand Wi-Fi set-up at a substantial savings.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from HUGE LETDOWN!! I bought this unit as an alternative the CamRanger after reading several positive reviews both here on B&H and elsewhere - unfortunately it doesn't live up to its perceived reputation (not even close). What that said, it does work beautifully (as promised) when you're sitting right beside the unit but anything further than 10 feet away and things get dicey in a hurry. I shoot interiors and architecture professionally and I wanted to use the Weye Feye when I'm lighting distant spaces so I wouldn't have to run back and forth to the camera. I tried the Weye Feye out in my house with the camera in the foyer (20ish feet away) and it continually dropped the connection... When it did manage to stay connected the latency was beyond infuriating - once a command was entered (changing the shutter speed for example) if would take up to a minute for the camera to register the change and even longer for the image preview to appear once a shot was taken. Bottom line, get one of the other alternatives that are available on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great For Remote Control And Live View This is great for when your camera is in a position which makes it hard to see the LCD let alone the viewfinder. I get the live view and basic camera settings on my phone screen, without touching the camera. I couldn't connect to the WiFi through the app, but it was no problem just going into my phone settings and selecting the source generated by the Weye Feye, which is probably what I was supposed to do anyway.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great device, not only for studio work! I use it for my milkdress shoots (---) to have a good preview.I use it for shoots outdoor (were thetering or wifi is not available.the way you control your camera is not 100% intuitive but you will get the hang of it in less than one hour.I love it! I love to use it en that I've bought it @ B&H is the best thing as it is NOT for sale in the netherlands. :-)
