Custom SLR CL01S overview

  • 1Description

The silver C-Loop Camera Strap Mount Solution from Custom SLR improves your shooting experience by relocating the strap mounting point. Whereas the traditional camera strap is mounted to the top of the camera, the C-Loop mounts it to the bottom via an included tripod screw and integrates a swivel. This enables the camera strap to stay out of your way while shooting, and thus makes it easier and more enjoyable to use your camera.

The C-Loop swivels 360° to reduce tangling and enable smooth panning. Its low profile also makes it easier to transition from landscape to portrait shots. It works with existing camera straps and all devices with a tripod mount.

    Custom SLR CL01S reviews

C-Loop Camera Strap Mount Solution (Silver) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 50.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable! I use this along with the glide strap by Custom SLR. This product along with the glide strap are outstanding. I ditched the stock Canon strap and will never look back. It is in fact ergonomic and comfortable wearing for walk around photography. The C loop attaches itself securely to the base of my t2i. What is also great is the swivel mechanism of the c-loop while attached to the camera. It makes walking and shooting off the cuff a breeze. Initially I had my skepticism about the strap and c-loop in wondering if it was safe to use. The youtube demo videos are what pushed me over to give Custom SLR a shot. As far as dislikes, I don't have any to report. Take that with a grain of salt because I'm easy to please.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great removable strap, not perfect The major plus is that it's extremely easy to remove the strap from your camera at any time with this attachment. The major downer is how much it costs. I think the pricing is a little expensive, and to be honest, the usability of this strap mount depends on large your lens is and how heavy it is compared to your camera body. Too heavy/long of a lens and your camera doesn't rest well against your body when hanging as it would if the strap was attached normally. Other than that the swivel action is built well and the construction is very solid, but it's not the perfect solution. Still, you'd be hard pressed to find anything else out there that's better. Also be careful, the little rubber spacer can fall off and disappear if you're not careful when removing and putting on the strap mount.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A smart bottom mounted strap solution A camera strap that mounts to the tripod socket on the camera body is a great idea, but most of the expensive straps made for this purpose have a serious drawback -- a bulky shoulder pad that is slippery and won't stay on the shoulder. Now, this extremely well-mde little gadget allows me to use a (relatively inexpensive) neoprene strap with a sticky back and get all of the advantages of the bottom mount on the camera body for shorter lenses. And when using the big 70-200 mm zoom on the Nikon D3 or D800 with grip, attaching the strap to the telephoto tripod mount socket lets the camera hang with an an almost perfect balance, without slipping off my shoulder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It gets the strap out of the way I really like this. I like my camera strap to go around my left shoulder and hang off my right hip. Long story short, no matter how you wear your camera, the strap would hit me in the face or block my viewfinder when I turned the camera to shoot vertical. This moves the straps to the bottom of the camera and out of the way. It's also nice if you have a heavy lens or speedlight. Before the camera would start flopping around and tipping over. Now it stays put on my hip a lot easier. I think it makes it easier to grab the camera. And it's so simple, just screw it in and attach your camera strap. Easy and works great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Srew it well or you might get screwed The thing is solid and you see that it's made with quality material. I don't see how it could break. That doesn't mean it's a perfect system. Every screw will eventually unscrew. This is not a screw and forget system. Mine unscrewed completely by chance, I was holding my Canon 5D Mark III with a 70-200mm when it happened. A friend that bought a Blackrapid strap got that trick from the sales man. Each time you store you camera, unscrew it completely. That way, you're sure I'll be screwed all the way each time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more interference! This little attachment eliminates the annoying strap-in-the-way with traditional camera strap attachments. It works with any strap and attaches/detaches easily. A very strong product, I've no worries about it failing. It also has a pretty low profile, so even though the camera won't sit flat on a surface, it's not too bad, and it still fits into my camera cases. I now leave the camera around my shoulder, across my chest and can just lift to take a photo, rather than try to remove my arm, or leave it hanging around my neck, which gets very uncomfortable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for DSLRs This is good for my EOS 40D when not using a grip (rarely). With the grip, it tends to force the lens into your hip or leg. The camera also tends to rock around on your hip as you move. If you are looking for something to very temporarily attach to your camera so you can wear it, this is probably as good as you can get (it seems to be well made and sturdy). But for any real use, this is not the way to go. I mainly use it when changing lenses or when hiking to use more as a lanyard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and works great I used the Black Rapid straps for a while, but beside being rather bulky, the connectors were also scratching my equipment. The C-Loop works great, and it allows me to us it with the straps of my choice for comfort. I use them with my 70-200/2.8 and 300/2.8 with the strap connected to the tripod mount on the lenses, makes it much more comfortable to carry the ling lenses that way. I do still prefer to carry my cameras with short lenses using a strap connected the traditional way, but this is my prefered way to carry my long lenses.
