    Miller 12 reviews

Compass 12 Solo DV 2-Stage Alloy Tripod is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kicks the tar out of Sachtler's FSB8 I owned the Sachtler FSB8 before going to the DV expo and getting my hands on the Miller Compass 12. I was sold the minute I moved the head. I thought to myself Now THAT kind of movement is what I expected from Sachtler and didn't get for the price! I immediately purchased the Compass 12 and am as happy as a clam. Everything about the Compass 12 - the feel, the fluid movement, the stages, the alloy sticks, the price - is great! For any owners of the plastic-laden Sachtler, I would recommend making the switch! The Miller is solid, mostly metal, and 'feels' like a pro tripod. The SOLO sticks are awesome! (Shame on you for the flimsy sticks, Sachtler. ;)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best under $2K tripod! It is my first professional grade tripod, so I did a ton of research before buying it. I decided to go for Sachtler FSB6 with carbon legs. Well, it came with a broken rubber part that attaches to spike. Sachtler sent me a new part as a replacement. And then I noticed than the other rubber leg part is almost broken already. So, it looks like it's a design flaw, and this parts need to be replaced all the time. Also the quality of a build was not as good as it should be for $1.5K tripod. Plastic parts feel so cheap an ugly, that you don't want to touch it again. But head is pretty good though. Well, I send it back and got Miller Compass 12 Solo instead. Everything feels so much better now - build quality is outstanding, head is super smooth and easy to use, sticks are really fast and extend really high. All solid metal, plastic parts are sturdy and strong. Outstanding Australian quality! Highly recommended!
