Rycote 042255 Overview

Upgrade your existing suspension with the pair of Rycote 042255 Lyre 62 with Modular Adapter & Screws and benefit from second-to-none isolation from handling noise and vibrations. The 62 shore hardness is for lightweight, compact condenser microphones 0.74 to 0.98" (19 to 25mm) in diameter, mounted on small and medium suspensions, Windshield Kits 1 to 3, or Windshield Kit 10.

Each Lyre is extremely sturdy and virtually unbreakable because there are no elastic components, which tend to sag or break. They feature a soft-grip internal surface on the mic clip that helps prevent the mic from twisting or slipping and stops the clip from scratching the mic's powder-coated surface. Included are two Lyres, a modular bar adapter, and screws.

Lyre 62 Shore Compatibility

Suitable for lightweight, compact condenser microphones 0.74 to 0.98" (19 to 25mm) in diameter, used on small and medium suspensions, Windshield Kits 1 to 3, or Windshield Kit 10. Mics include the MKH-8040, 8050, 8060, Schoeps CMC, DPA 4017, and others.

Choose from 3 Different Degrees of Hardness Depending on Your Mic

The Lyres are available in three different degrees of shore hardness, which allow users to choose a soft, more compliant suspension for lightweight, short microphones or a stiffer hardness for longer microphones.

The different hardness degrees are easily identified by the Lyre color combinations. The lower the number, the softer the shore hardness. The 62 shore is softer than the 72 shore, and the 82 shore is the stiffest. Shore hardness color combinations are:

  • 62 shore: Black rigid part with black soft grip
  • 72 shore: Black rigid part with gray soft grip
  • 82 shore: Light-gray rigid part with black soft grip
