iPhone/iPod/iPad TRRS to XLR Mic & 3.5mm Monitoring Jack Cable is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for an HD IPhone Video Rig This is a must have to get PRO Video quality out of an iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, or other mobile camera. I use this cord in conjunction with a self-powered Sennhiser shotgun mic and a mini steadycam. Add an camera such as the 1080p iPhone 4s and you have the ultimate run-and-gun rig with built-in editing. The audio tap is useful in calibrating and reviewing footage and determining mic placement needs. Unfortunately you cannot monitor the audio as it is being recorded. I believe this is a limitation of the iPhone though, not a fault of the cable. The cable is well made and features top grade connectors. I'd definitely recommend this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I would not buy. Things that are great. it works : one could listen with headphone while recording from iPHONE 6. one could plug in an XLR mic. not too expensive. Things that aren't so great about it. the cable for XLR seems very fragile, I add black tape inside the connector to help. The connection to the iphone is too easy to move and disturb the incoming signal. Because it use the TRRS in the iPHONE the recording is way too hissy. It is the method used to connect to the iPHONE that is responsible for this. And of course it could not provide phantom power to the MIC through TRRS. Rode is preparing what should give a better sounding experience because it will plug into the lightning port of the iPHONE with its Rode i-XLR Digital XLR Adapter for Apple iOS Devices. It will be available this spring, but it will cost three times the cost of this Sescom adapter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect I bought this cable for my iPhone 6 128GB. The iOS video camera will not allow audio monitoring during the recording...fear not. There are a few options to get beyond this iOS deficiency. I rolled the dice with my five bucks on the app store and picked MoviePro...couldn't be more impressed. I purchase the cable for the sky has fallen, my HVX200 died, I'm out of town, and the interview is standing in front of me looking at their watch, as a backup camera...what is the best camera? The one you have! Thank you B&H on steering me in the right direction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works amazing! Can be used on iPhone or Blackberry, doesn't seem to work on all smart phones however. We use it to record interviews into an iPhone then email the clips back to the station. Can also be used for call in interviews for live events. We have found that the user cannot hear what is coming into the mic but can hear the station/person talking to on the other end of the call. Person at the station can clearly hear signal into the mic/phone so it still works fine for it's intended purpose. Make sure your headphone and mic leads are short so you are not dragging cables around. Sound quality and level are 10/10 for a phone device. You would be crazy to spend more money on a full blown phone interface! This device is simple to use and very effective.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sescom iPhone/iPod/iPad TRRS to XLR Mic I purchased this product based solely on the product description unsure if it would work with my Iphone. I received it a couple of days later I opened the package I plugged it into my Iphone my head phones my Rode NTG 2 mic. I then opened up the free app from Tascam for recording audio and YES it works and works well it does. Thanks for the accurate product description. It would have really bummed me out if it did not work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A bit pricey, but perfect. If you use your I-Phone to do radio remotes, this is what you need. You'll be able to use headphones for monitoring and a decent mic for interviewing, announcing, etc. The only weak link is the jack in the phone itself, so treat it well! A well made cable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally! A 3.5MM to XLR Adapter works! We're updating our remote gear to use Skype to Skype Voice via Ipad and didn't want to spend a ton of money on a phone mixer so this adapter was the perfect solution.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Seems fragile It's the only cable I found of its kind, but it's more fragile than I had hoped. The headphone jack can split away, and the XLR plug is tenuously connected to the cable; a bit of heat shrink tubing would help. Also, make sure the case on your phone allows enough space for the right angle plug; my Speck case does not. Still, the cable does the job with both the audio and video apps I used.
