Is the magnet portion removable? I'd like to thread this into my camera cage to hold a monitor.
Asked by: Erol C.
The magnet may very well be held on by a screw. Definitely the joint that holds the magnet is removable. Then of course you need a screw joint. So you might consider Stage Ninja SSA-Kit Scorpion Accessory Kit for Scorpion Series Mounts with 3/4 Gooseneck plus the Stage Ninja Scorpion Series Mic to Camera/AV Device Adapter. The end of the arm could go into the cage and the Adapter would hold the monitor.

Is the flexible area covered with silicone or just painted?
Asked by: Robert
It is not covered in silicone, it is also not a paint. It is just the color of the plastic.

How much can it carry? Will it carry a D5200 with a Sigma 18-200
Asked by: Jacob H.
I guess it depends on how many segments you have and what type of angle you're trying to hold. The piece is pretty stiff to begin with, I don't know if it will loosen up over time. There is just friction between the segments holding the shape. You can remove segments, which would make it stiffer. You can have as few as two segments (the base and the end effector)The magnetic base is amazingly strong. It is difficult to remove from it's metal placement.
