I want to record nature sounds (bird calls, lion roars, etc) with this shotgun mic from a distance of 500m. Will I be able to record good quality sound 500m away in perfect conditions?
No, it will not, and 500 meters is going to present significant challenge. In order to record from a distance you will want to use a parabolic collector with a good mic, but, this method will allow capture from a distance of up to 600', which is only about 200 meters.
