    Nikon 26255B reviews

Coolpix L120 Digital Camera (Bronze) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 126.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just right! I bought this for my mother who wanted digital SLR-like functionality without the weight or complicated controls. It does the job. It's no digital SLR but comes close in most routine photos. Extra zoom is a plus. i like the fact that it uses AA batteries since we have a habit of losing chargers. So far the only function that I don't particularly like is the sports or continuous shooting mode, which does not work that well. maybe I haven't quite figured out how to optimize the settings for it. In any case, I doubt my mother will ever feel the need to figure out how to turn that function on anyway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little camera This camera is a great little camera, especially for the price point. Owning a Nikon D300, it was a step down for sure, but does work out quite well in more of a point and shoot environment. I like the flash having a similar release as the D300, thus not forcing me into turning off the flash using the software. The video record function is nice, not needing to go through a menu to shoot, just pushing a button and going. Again, it's not a DSLR, but it does certainly do the job in terms of zoom and picture quality. I also like the usage of AA's as well as Nikon batteries. It allows a much easier trip to no-where, without worrying about chargers and/or even a place to charge out in the wilderness. Of course it means having batteries to bring, but that's a price to pay for the ease.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nikon Coolpix L 120 Just joined a small camera club in my community. My previous digital is about 8-10 years old. At the time the cost for this camera was $. I was looking for a new one and after reading reviews for weeks I decided on the Nikon Coolpix L 120. The picture quality is great for a camera at this price range and above. I also wanted a camera that could get good quality macro shots and distance. All I can say is that it fits all my needs and then some. Very easy to use. I thought that I would miss not having a viewfinder but the clarity on the LCD, even in sunlight, is great. Can't be happier....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent all-around camera As an amatuer photographer I found this to be an excellent camera for a great price. It has features that make it superior to most point and shoot cameras such as the superior wide angle optics, 21X zoom capability, excellent image stabilization and high speed sports mode, but is still simple to use. I have not had it long and am still discovering the extent of its capabilities. The only thing that I have found to be a slight problem is that the battery life is shorter than preferred.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great camera I am just a mom who was looking for a decent camera to take pics of my 1 1/2 year old. At first i found the camera to take very blurry pics. Then I set the camera to automatic ( the one without the heart) and made sure i had the flash up all the time unless I was outside. The camera has taken excellent pics since then. I especially love photos of my baby in the pool they are so CLEAR!!! (the camera is NOT waterproof so be careful)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best in Class, Great Camera ! This was a Mother's Day gift to my wife. The camera is awesome, fast, the resolution is great, as is the quality of the pictures. It has a lot of great features, the zoom is really good and it's a powerful camera. Also, the price is really good, even better if you get one of the bundles. The camera although not really complicated to use, is not the easiest one in terms of how to use all the features it has. In general, this is definetly one of the Top Point-and-Shoot cameras in the market right now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great deal on a great camera! I've only owned the Nikon Coolpix L120 for two weeks now and so far I really like it. This is only my second Nikon that I've ever owned. The first was a Nikon SLR I had back in the 80's that I really liked. The camera is very easy to use and it takes great pictures. Even though the manual is in PDF format I own a printer that can print out in duplex mode, which means I can print out the entire manual with half the paper. I recommend reading the manual as it has a lot of information on how to use the different scene modes. I thought it was great that the camera came with 4 Energizer Lithium batteries. These are the best type of batteries that you can use as they will last a very long time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good for outdoor, bad for indoor I bought this as a replacement when I don't want to carry the bulky Nikon D300 DSLR, but want better picture than pocket size point and shoot.Pros: Long zoom, HD videoThis camera takes excellent outdoor pictures where light is abundant. Outdoor pictures are bright and crisp. Zoom is clear but the camera auto-focus point seems to be in the background rather than the foreground. What that means is if I take a picture of you standing in front of a tree from afar, the tree will be more clear than you in photo. But you won't notice these minor differences if you only develop 4x6 or 5x7 photos.HD video image is satisfactory, zoom is very slow at video recording mode. Image stabilization can't compare to a dedicated hand-held camcorder, but the recording quality is good enough for me since I don't have to carry an extra recording device.CONS: A lot of presets with no manual control. Nikon created many shooting scenarios presets and forced you to pick. You can change ISO setting but you can NOT choose a different shutter speed. There would be no problem if the presets work as described, but they don't.This camera is impossible to take an indoor photo on people.- Day time photos of wife sitting next to the window under sunlight while reading a book - FUZZY.- Day time photos of friends inside a restaurant having lunch - FUZZY.- Day time photos of kids at birthday party blowing candles, singing songs, etc - FUZZY.- Night time photos of family sitting on a couch with all room lights turn on - FUZZY.I have tried these with every available presets such as Portrait Mode, SPORT MODE, AUTO Mode with various ISO settings under flash and no-flash. The results are similar. Do I have super shaky hands that I am unaware of?- Night time picture of a pen on table under low light - Clear. Conclusion: This is a good outdoor camera but useless for indoor. I am returning it because of its inability to produce clear indoor live portrait. What good is a camera if you can't shoot clear pictures on people?Could the camera I received be defective? Maybe, but ... reviews have reported similar issues.4 AA batteries will approximately good for 300 photos with half flash, and half non-flash
