The X-CEL 2x Barlow Lens -1.25 from Celestron has a 3-element fully multi coated design. It has a brass pressure ring for securely holding the eyepiece without damaging the barrel. Hello. Does this barlow pair with the Celestron zoom 8-24? I mean, does it make sense this configuration? Thanks!
Pairing a zoom eyepiece with a 2x Barlow Lens is not recommended. Focusing issues may be encountered, as well as light loss due to numerous lenses in the optical train. Sincerely, Garrett at Celestron

Will this screw into a t-ring for use with a DSLR?
This will not. This is a Barlow Lens used for Eyepieces only. The only model we carry that does accept a T-Ring with Barlow is the Celestron SLR Camera Adapter with Integral 2x Barlow Lens.

question
Can the lense assembly be unscrewed and attached to an eye piece like the Omni line barlow?
Sorry for my delayed reply. My wife and I lecture on Princess Cruise ships and we just returned on the 23rd. I am familiar with barlow lenses that are threaded and can screw into the inside of a 1.25 eyepiece. I presume this is what you mean. This is not such a unit. The barlow is fixed inside a cell within the unit and does not appear to be readily removable. The front of the barlow is indeed threaded so as to allow a standard filter to be screwed in (if desired), just as you would screw such a filter into an eyepiece. The front of the barlow fits into a 1.25 drawtube (travel around 1.2 inches) and a 1.25 eyepiece fits into the back end with an allowed travel slightly greater. The whole unit in just a fraction under 3 inches long. The barlow lens, within its mounting, has a clear aperture (front lens), of 0.7 .In my limited experience using it (C14), it performed in a satisfactory manner.
