Oben VH-R2 Reviews

Great for Binoculars

I purchased this tilt head to improve my monopod setup for binoculars for astronomy and birdwatching. It has no problem holding 10x42 or 10x50 binoculars in any orientation. Even when the binoculars are pointed up near the zenith, there's no slipping from the unbalanced load with this tilt head (unlike the very cheap ball head I was using before). It's well built and seems to me like it will be extremely durable. It's quite light, so this is a great option for a travel setup. I definitely recommend this monopod head!

This head works well with the Oben ATM-2600 6-Section Aluminum Monopod. good combo, camera mounts securely and no movement at all. I do use it often and have seen no problem with it so far.

works really well, Especially like being able to tilt the head to shoot vertically. The quick attachment piece is proprietary,I wish a had a second one. Other ones I have don't work with it. So i need to remember when I move the piece from a lens to a camera body. No big deal. The quick release works really well.

I'm using this tilt head with my Manfrotto monopod. It's very sturdy and doesn't move when locked down. I used it quite a bit on a trip to Yellowstone recently with my Sigma 150-500 lens and it worked perfectly. Really well priced- very pleased with it!

Will this head work on a Manfrotto 290 Monopod? ...

Will this head work on a Manfrotto 290 Monopod? How good is this head for panning vertical and horizontally when you are using a 400mm lens?
Asked by: Dennis
The Oben VH-R2 Tilt Head for Monopods is compatible with the Manfrotto 290 Monopod. This head is good for tilting the camera as long as the camera and lens does not weight more than 11 lbs. The head doe not allow for horizontal panning, but you could turn the Monopod.
