SpotLight SPOT-8608 overview

  • 1Description

This time machine titanium-colored Turbo Rechargeable LED Light from Spotlight will assure you of never being without a light in your car. This tiny fixture is less than 2" long and charges from virtually any 12VDC car/vehicle power outlet, and delivers up to 35 lumens of light. It can be safely left to charge in the lighter, so it's always charged and ready. It uses a slow trickle charge, so it won't harm the light, your car, or the car's battery. You get 3 hours of light from a single charge of the included rechargeable NiMH battery and there is a red charging indicator to tell you the status of the charge. The aluminum body has a time machine titanium-colored anodized finish and is IPX7 rated to be submersible to 3.3' for up to 30 minutes.

Turbo Rechargeable LED Light (Time Machine Titanium) is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mini Rechargeable Flashlight I first purchased this as an impulse buy, seeing how small and suprisingly bright. I knew it was labled as rechageable in a bin full of differently colored and fashionable mini flashlights. I had no idea how to recharge it at first until a simple internet search led me to find it simply plugs into my cigarette lighter in my car. Best impulse buy ever! I've used it when I'm walking around in dark parkinglots, in my house and have even brought it camping because the last thing you need when camping is more bulky items. The 3 different light functions help as a beacon to alert others of where you are and also has tactical uses.It fits in my purse so I always have it with me. I love this little lipstick sized brilliant flashlight.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Recommended I am a truck driver. This light was given to me by a friend and I use it every day while performing my pre-trip inspection. It's a cool little light that fits in my pocket, is intensely bright and very handy. You never know when you will need a light. I especially like that it is rechargeable. No more buying or replacing batteries. I recommend this item highly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bright but wobbles This is a much needed device for the car. I charge it with the plug attachment that came with it but unfortunately it wobbles and does not charge without moving it around.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Weak lens rim renders it useless With very few uses, the lens rim, (the only grabbing point to pull it out of the lighter socket), comes apart from the body and pliers or a tool is rquired to remove it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy Doo-dads This is a whiz-bang Doo-Dad! I'm not sure if you're supposed to attempt any photography, actual pictures, with it, so I did. You'll find samples below. I used the yellow one because I saw no advantage to the pink one for double price. Besides, from looking at the pix, how can you tell? If you're serious about clients' product shots and proper lighting, go elsewhere, for the only control this unit has is On-Off. On the negative side, you get what you pay for, and this one is worth every cent. The cigarette lighter end is, as stated, too small to fit in a cigarette lighter, so there's a bit of plastic which states, in capital letters on the side, ADAPTOR. So what the hey! Put it on and leave it. It doesn't look any less silly either way. This light will not light Niagara Falls at night! Or any other time, either. There are a heap of Positives: Low cost is one; small, shirt pocket size is another. Good for looking for items lost in the bottoms of various camera bag pockets until you lose this one in a camera bag pocket. Hang it on your key ring in the bottom of the other camera bag pocket. And so on. Any place you need a small and somewhat discrete light, this is your choice. Optional accessories include some colored disks not primarily for color balancing but more for colored horror lighting than anything. There is a magnetic holder (does not work on the glass part of the car door) quite useful for holding the light while you look for stuff lost in the bottoms of camera bag pocket. (You're beginning to learn where most of my night-shoot time goes.) The gooseneck portion of this holder is not -20, but probably a metric approximation. Get your thread gauge out, measure it, and you can cobble up a holder from almost anything. That means anything with that threat will fit into the magnetic base, and who knows where that could lead? The 12V charger has not yet arrived, but I anticipate that it will keep the light working somewhat beyond the normal battery life. What do I really think about it? I'm ordering two or three more of everything except the charger (only one more) because when you need a light tight to the lens but not in the lens, this is the only choice I've found. After all, it's Doo-Dads that make photography fun!
