According to the Nikon Techs the Nikon AS-N1000 has connectivity with an SB 800 in the shoe...Asking this question again, just in case there are pocket wizard users out there...I know the pocket wizard is the middle connector which makes it universal..seems the Nikon AS-N1000 does not have a connector there..can anyone verify this? thanks

The AS-N1000 has no electrical connections at all. It enables you to physically mount standard hot shoe accessories on the N1accessory port but does not make any electrical connections to the port.

Can you adapt a standard hot shoe flash to this?

Unfortunately, you could not use a flash with this adapter. This only has a cold shoe, not a hot shoe.
