    Plantronics W730 reviews

Savi W730 Multi Device Wireless Headset System is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 87.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Sound and Volume There are over 100 of these headsets in the call center I work in. Probably 1000 within the building. For the most part, I've never heard a complaint about them. I like the sound and clarity of the speakers. The Wireless is flawless, once you get the headset dialed in. However, I noticed a crack across the top of the headband last week. This week, the headband is split into two parts. It doesn't effect the headset too much, but the fit is compromised slightly. When I mentioned it to my team, 4 out of the 11 had similar issues with their headbands. I guess it's not just me. Anyway, hopefully Plantronics is working on that flaw.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wish it Supported Stero Bluetooth For Cellphone For starters, I'm very happy I purchased this headset. Saw some mixed reviews, but glad I went for it. Ended up causing my company to buy several of them. PC/Desktop phone integration was a piece of cake. Works great with MS Lync. Easy to pair to my cellphone. Only down side is I can't listen to music from my cellphone to the headset. It currently does not support this feature, only goes through the USB. Would love to see this as a firmware update, so here's crossing my fingers. But that aside, I’d still recommend the headset. I went with the W740-m. Oh, and don't forget to download the Plantronics headset app for your PC. Gives more control over the headset.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from w730 and w740 5 out of 10, 10 being the best. The w730 ear style is more comfortable than the w740 ear style. I cannot wear the w740 in my ear all day, but can the w730. The Bluetooth communication is between the base and cell phone, not the earpiece and cell phone, thus limits the ability to walk around holding the cell phone. Downgraded the features score because of this Bluetooth "feature?". I cannot take the earpiece with me in the car or when working from home. I also dislike that I CANNOT use the Bluetooth to communicate directly with the PC. I have to use the USB cable. It is one-more-cable that adds to the cable mess.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I wish I'd purchased the W730 sooner. I originally purchased this to only replace my office handset which I was tired of wedging between my shoulder and ear. I thought that the PC connectivity and Bluetooth were features that I'd never use, but now I find myself using them all the time. The W730 has replaced my handset, computer earphone and makes using my cell at my desk simple. I'm very picky about ear buds and hate to constantly adjust them when they have that "loose" feeling. With the provided silicone ear buds, the headset fits like a glove. I have no bouncing or slipping at all. I have some hearing loss, but with the free Plantronics software, I’ve been able to adjust tone settings to make understanding callers easier than ever before. Granted this system may be somewhat expensive, but with all it offers I find it an excellent value.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good phone, one big problem... The phone is comfortable, audio quality seems to be good on inbound and outbound side. One problem, not small: when using the headset with Polycom VVX310 phone with EHS adapter, the headset hangs up every time after 60 seconds. (This doesn't happen when using mobile phone.) I've timed it several times. Quite an annoying feature when having a phone conversation. Unless this attribute can be fixed, the headset is absolutely useless for desktop phone calls. Any direction you can give with this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Keeps changing the way it works Have owned the 740-M for 6 months now and it has been nothing but trouble. Pairing it with mobile phone was a daily exercise that I finally gave up on. Using it with a Polycom CX600 and sometimes it works and others not at all. Recently it has changed so that it either must run through the headset and the CX600 will not ring or bypass it so that the CX600 will ring but I can’t use the 740 on the call. My coworker is experiencing the same problems and support did not help her at all. I tried to contacting chat support and all they told me to do was uninstall and reinstall (with a reboot to insure that I was disconnected from chat). It would be so nice to have a product that just worked considering that it is “optimized of Lync” and is reported to support the type of phones that we have.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Constant connection failures. I use this at work and it is nothing but problems. Hope you don't have more than 2 hours of consecutive meetings, it will not last much longer. Additionally on occasion it will simply not connect with my computer or phone. I have not found a solution that works (tried: reset power on headset stand, re-docking headset, re-dial into meeting, kill Lync process and restart it) aside from rebooting the whole machine and crossing my fingers hoping this will resolve. Sometimes it does. Sometimes. for such an expensive product, this should just work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent choice for my home office I did a lot of research and decided on this model. I'm so glad I did.  I work from home and I am on the phone several hours a day. This unit is replacing a 4 year old DECT headset that supported both my desk phone and computer. First, what this phone is not - it is not a stereo headset for listening to music. That's not what I was looking for anyway. IMO, music listening is a different (mutually exclusive) requirement. To drive low frequencies accurately you need more power to push air. You would need more battery. This product is not designed for that.  Sound quality - Out of the box, there was a slight hiss when the line was silent. But it has several adjustments to tweak the volume and frequency range (wideband / narrowband). Level 2 volume and wideband frequency gave me optimum setting. I have tested it now for all three connections and the sound quality is very good.  Easy switching between computer, mobile phone and desk (landline) phone - I have set my computer audio to be my default line. So when I press the on button on my headset, it turns on the computer line. You can change it to either of the three connections (computer, BT, or desk phone) by pressing and holding the line button on the base. The best part is that if I get a mobile call, I can just answer from the headset. It knows that there is an incoming call on mobile so it connects you there instead of the computer. Bluetooth - Contrary to what some folks claim about poor quality BT connection, my Samsung GS4 connected easily and my mobile calls are equally good. Granted I work from home and have only a few other BT devices. So someone in a very crowded space with hundreds of such devices competing for airwaves may have a different result. Nifty splitter cable for desk phone - It comes with a Y splitter cable for connecting to your deskphone and its handset. Now I can either answer the call by lifting the handset (which I rarely do - probably never with this headset) or just pressing a button on the headset. Very good battery life and two batteries - I charge both batteries overnight. It has lasted over 6 hours total with about 50% time talking on the phone and I still have 25% juice left. If needed I should be able to switch the battery by putting the call on hold for about 5-10 seconds. Wearing options - I was quite impressed with how thoughtfully designed wearing options are. I had used over the head band before and wanted to try other options. Behind the head was most attractive since it seemed to stay out of my glasses. But I decided to ditch it after a few hours. This or other over the ear options may be good for people who don't have glasses. I ended going back to the traditional over the head wearing option for its secure feeling and very little pressure on or around my ear. I have a big foam cover to give me more comfortable feel on my ear. Other options couldn't beat that. Anyway, I think most people will find one of these options very comfortable. Last but not the least - the Plantronics Control Panel on my PC is quite user friendly. The best part is that it tells you how much battery power is remaining. So you can switch the battery in advance of it getting too low.
