question

will this work to connect a vintage manual focus pentax k-mount lens to a sony A7R?
Asked by: Anonymous
I think users need to be sure they know which version of K-mount lenses they wish to use. If you need more information, look for the google PentaxLensesExplained to check which version you have. Unless the adapter has it's own means of controlling the aperture (and it appears not to have that), then it is really only usable with FA, F, A, M and original K versions. None of the DA versions or FA-J will work, since they lack on-lens aperture control.

question

I seem to be getting conflicting info from this Q&A section... Is this adapter fully compatible with Sony's full frame E-mount a7 series cameras i.e. images do not appear cropped on a Sony a7 series camera? I suspect one user's vignetting issue was caused by his use of Pentax K lenses designed for an APS-C sized sensor. Thanks in advance.

This should not crop full-frame lenses, namely the Pentax K-mount lenses made for film cameras (35mm format). Also, in that regard, I think users need to be sure they understand which version of K-mount lens they have: google for PentaxLensesExplained and go to the mosphotos site where all of the K-mount versions are explained.Unless the adapter has it's own means of controlling the aperture (and it appears not to have that), then it is really only usable with FA, F, A, M and original K versions. These were all for film 35mm cameras. None of the DA versions or FA-J will work, since they lack on-lens aperture control.I am using FA-31mm Ltd and FA-43mm Ltd with no cropping - going wider, as one user mentioned (20mm) might get some vignetting at the corners.

question

I'm considering to buy Pentax K-1 camera , this adapter will work for all Sony E lenses including the FE series from Zeiss ?
Asked by: Anonymous
I think you have your adapters mixed up. If you want a Pentax K1 then you need an adapter that suits yourchoice of lenses to the Pentax K1. So, one adapter for the E lenses and one adapter for the FE lenses. OK?The adapter your looking at is only for K lenses (Pentax) to suit E mount cameras.(Sony)

question

Does this adaptor have an aperture control? I would like to use my pentax full frame 70-200 on an a7s. Would this be achievable? The main question from me however, is if this can control the aperture manually. (like with a ring)
Asked by: Matt W.
No, look at Novoflex. The voigtlander is good for lens that have an aperture ring.

question

anyone know the precise crop factor for this adapter??
Asked by: Anonymous
(1) it alows full frame lens to be used manually with the A7 FE cameras, with out cropping.( 2) using apc-s cameras the crop should be 1.5 which is due to your sensor size in the camera ie A6000.

question

I just purchased a Sony VG900 video camera with interchangeable lens capability. It is a full frame camera with an E mount but I'm not sure its a true NEX camera. I also have some Tamaron Adaptall lenses with with Adaptall 2 - K mounts for Pentax film cameras. I know that using this combination with your adapter will make the video camera a full manual operation, which I am okay with. Still, do you recommend this combination?
Asked by: Lee H.
I bought this Voigtlander adapter for Sony full frame a7r camera with my collection of Pentax K mount lens. Physically they fit very well on the E-mount side as well as the K mount side. However, it vignettes on all 4 corners so the adapter is only designed for NEX camera. I actually returned the item but it should work for any E mount NEX comparable size or smaller sensors.
