The Sunwayfoto DDP-64M Indexing Rotator is a rotating head that allows you to pan at precise degree increments. This enables you to capture a series of photos – at stop intervals that range from 5° to 90° – that you'll later stitch into a panoramic masterpiece (possibly involving high-dynamic range capture as well).

Remove and insert the attached key to easily change the detent (stop) interval. The DDP-64M features independent locks for the top platform and for the pan base. You can also use this indexing rotator as a traditional panning base. With a 22 lb load capacity, the DDP-64M supports most camera/lens combinations.

There are 10 options for detent (stop) configuration: degree increments of 5 (72 stops), 10 (36 stops), 15 (24 stops), 20 (18 stops), 24 (15 stops), 30 (12 stops), 36 (10 stops), 45 (8 stops), 60 (6 stops), or 90 (4 stops)
All-metal construction, anodized to a scratch-resistant black finish
Control lever is also metal, with no plastic or rubber
Lubricated bearings for smooth rotation
Laser-engraved index marks

DDP-64M Indexing Rotator is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from average rotator The design is good. But the actual click into position is pretty dissappointing and I just have to watch the numbers on the side rather than being able to feel a click when reaching the next stopping position. I have tried different pressures on the screw adjustment but nothing seems to help. If the environment you are working in is quiet enough you can hear a slight click when to stop but that's it. I can't feel it click into a stopping point. In my opinion it doesn't really perform like it should and I would not buy another and would recommend caution when purchasing depending on your particular need. If you plan to use it a lot I would recommend another product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from DDP-64 Indexing Rotator The Rotator works fine. You have to start all of your rotations at zero degrees. Some of the settings do not pass through zero and 90 degrees (20-18, 24-15, 36-10, and 60-6). This is no problem for Panoramic photography. You just can't start at 90 degrees.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay but not great Sunwayfoto makes some great products and I am an owner of a few of them. This indexing rotator is solidly built but the lack of feel at each selected increment caused me to return it. I found myself guessing where the stops were. No matter how I tried to adjust it, it did not help. If they can figure out how to solve that problem, this would be a nice product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential for Night Panoramas IN the past, I used a ball head to do panoramas. At night when time is tight between shots, it took me a while to pan 2 row and sometimes 3 row panoramas when the galaxy was high in the sky. The DDP-64M cuts the time by 1/3. No more lining up degree markers on each shot. Just turn, feel the click, and shoot. This device fits perfect on my tripod, and has enough degree markers for ultra wide to normal lens panoramas. I like they used levers vs knobs because the lock down on my tilt head, nodal rail, and L bracket uses knobs. With these levers, it's easy to grab the right lever and not get confused with various locking knobs. Also, the machining and operation of the 64M is smooth, and easy to set up. It also locks down good on a tripod, and has pull levers to keep them in a desired position. A great product for night or day panorama. A real time saver with precision. The only missing piece is a spirit or bullseye level. For that, the Sunwayfoto LP76 level plate is a good solution.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well Constructed The Sunway indexing rotator provides an easy way to index your camera while making panorama. Depending on your field of view you can set the index stops to match your desired overlap. It is NOT clear from the instructions that the thumbscrew for setting the angle increment should not be screwed in tight. There is a tension wherein the stops are easily felt but less or more tension reduces the feel of the stop - hence 4 stars. Overall, it's a very handy device for panorama.
