    Cineroid L2C-3K5K reviews

    L2C-3K5K On-Camera LED Light (Tungsten/Daylight) is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good, but.... This is a powerful light. The biggest issue with this on camera light is the battery charger that it comes with. This unit is very cheaply made. The battery supplied by this company to be used with the light wouldn't fully insert into their supplied battery charger unit. After several attempts to get the right fit each attempt failed, resulting in leaving an area exposed when charging the battery. To me this is a potential fire hazard. As a matter of fact, I'm going to bring this to B&H and have them take a look at the charge unit. I'll swap this this out for the same brand lighting package if this is only a problem with the light I have. If all the units of the L2C-3K5K On-Camera LED Light (Tungsten/Daylight) are this way, then, I go with a different company altogether. For the amount of money this unit costs, you wouldn't expect an oversight like the one described above. This is why I am giving a review of two starts rather then a 4.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from GREAT......But This is obviously a well engineered quality product but it is let down by the cheap Chinese battery charger that is supplied. Cineroid should be condemned severely for incorporating a piece of junk in a $500 plus unit. The battery will not even seat properly on the charger which could be a fire risk and forces purchasers of this unit to buy an additional charger. Buyer Beware.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Co.'s Quality Control Seriously Lacking Rating has to go down a star. In addition to making a trip to B&H, I called the company's US contact, left a message for the owner/product manager, the reason for the call, and requested a call back. To date, I have never received a return call. B&H knew right away upon looking at the unit, this was a manufacturing defect . It is so rare that something like this occurs they were even surprised. Bruce, one of the salesman, asked if I wanted another light. The other salesman whose name I don't recall, said, Since, this is a manufacturing defect, all the L2C-3K5K units would have the same flaw with the battery charger. Basically they just banged out these units and never bothered to check, or, care that all the parts fit properly. The sales people both had the same reaction as I did when they first saw the light turned on. The light is powerful and is in my opinion the best I've seen in it's class. In order to safely charge this light, I had to spend more money for another battery charger. To me, because of this problem, and, the $529.00 cost of the light, it is way to expensive for what you are actually get. Also, just by the virtue of the fact the US representative didn't call me back tells me this company isn't about to stand by their product. Although, I kept the light, it's really your call if you want to spend the money. At least anyone reading this will have heads up on the big issue. If you can deal with this problem it is worth keeping. Just buy another charger.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Powerful and clean, but... Got the unit and used it on my first gig. The first 5 minutes at full power, light went off completely. I thought the unit broke or overheated, but little did I know, the battery died. I don't know if the included battery is just cheap and doesn't hold charge, or what they claim on reviews is misleading. At full power, the battery last 5-6 minutes (30 setting). At (25) the battery lasts 10:26 seconds. At (20) the battery/light lasted 49:39 minutes. I am a bit disappointed on the battery life of the unit, but I will reserve future comments until I get my Sony Npf battery this Monday. Aside from the battery life, I love the light for its size and color consistency. The fan is very minimal even at full power (0-5 setting). I have to put my ear near the light to pick up the noise. And best yet, you can turn it off if needed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very frustrated with this light FIRST off had problems with the battery, now there is a problem with the light head contacts, ive tried cleaning the contacts but it needs to be pressed (clamped) together before the light works...try doing that for an entire interview...
