    Autocue/QTV OCU-SSP10LITE reviews

QTV Starter Series Lite 10" Teleprompter Package and Qstart is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Product Works Well Despite LCD Reverse If you plan on using this a while plan on paying for software updates. I purchased this when Windows 7 was out but to use Windows 8 you have to purchase new software updates. They are not free. If your system is not powerful enough to run dual desktops, the mirror desktop works, but the output is not reversed, so you cannot use that. (text is backwards with no way to reverse). The extended desktop mode works on fast PC's with good graphics cards. This mode allows reversed text. A small operator window appears on laptop. I hate the experience of updateing my PC's OS and only find out now I have to pay again to make the product work. Charge a little more for the product and give us free updates. That is my observation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but small design problems Great lightweight Auto Cue. Best I've used. Couple of design problems though. The bottom part of the mirror is a couple of inches too narrow, it should not be so triangled as it cuts a lot of the monitor off. Could be a better design for the base plate as balance has to be guessed before using Allen keys and putting the tripod base plate on. Also it is very difficult to plug the monitor in as the socket is obstructed by the monitor support. Taken into account, it's light weight makes up the problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best investment so far! Using it with smaller / medium size camcorder, and works like a charm. It even comes with a small riser plate to compensate the smaller side of camera which allow them to shoot from the middle of screen instead of the bottom. Great stuff and good value. Easy to setup!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Spend more and get more I usually do quite a bit of research before I buy a product. In this case, I did the same. Once I was ready to purchase, I determined that the Autocue SSP10 lite would fit my needs, based on build quality and features/price. Autocue looked like a reputable company and I was additionally sold by their videos and a rep. that I spoke to, by phone. In todays competetive business environment, you can usually correlate the value of cost to product. In this case, it was definitely not evident. The product I recieved was flimsy and sparse, from a quality and feature standpoint. You could tell that the manufacturer really trimmed back, in order to meet a price point. After attempting to put the thing together for an hour, I noticed that the hood support was bent. So, I called support. Got some help, but after some lengthy discussion I was told the they would have to get back with me with a resolution. I suggested an upgrade (at a cost) or at worst a replacement component. The next morning I recieved an e-mail suggesting that I bend the defective part into place or return the product to B&H. I was flabbergasted. So, I responded with a couteous e-mail stating how ridiculous the suggestion was and that it was a great example of poor support. Within an hour, I got a callback from the manager that suggested the bend it fix. What did he offer....still basically nothing. No upgrade, no replacement part...only some defensive conversation over the quality of their products and an explanation as to why the buid quality was cheap for the price. I don't always write reviews, but I do when the product/service is great or when it's poor. I called B&H and they had no problem sending me a shipping ticket to return the product. .....but its about the hassle...every manufacturer of a product should go overboard, especially in the case of defective product, to solve a situation. Thats just smart business. Now they lose a sale of their product, in the form of an upgrade and they get a poor review. I'm a very fair guy and I gave them a chance...a poor resolution policy gave them this result. Went back and did some more extensive research. Looks to me like Prompter People, Mirror Image and maybe even Telmax are the way to go....for build quality/value/price.
