Ape Case PRO Series overview

  • 1Description

The black, medium-sized ACPRO1200 PRO Series DSLR Camera Case from Ape Case is an effective combination of reliability, functionality, and price. This water-resistant nylon bag is your basic shoulder bag with all the features you need to get the job done without paying a hefty price. It is built to hold one to two DSLRs (one with lens attached), a couple of lenses, or your camcorder.

The tough nylon exterior is complimented by a smooth-lined interior. Padded, movable dividers permit you to arrange your PRO bag to accommodate whatever gear you need that day. The dividers are bright yellow, making them easy to see in marginal light—let's say, if you're shooting in a dark club or concert. It's a clever addition to a shooting bag that's designed to make your life easier in the field.

Within the bag there are 15 pockets and compartments—more than enough to carry lenses and accessories like batteries, cables, pens, filters, and cleaning cloths, plus your cell phone or MP3 player. A zippered exterior accessory pocket keeps all the small stuff together, while an internal mesh pocket serves the same purpose for quick-grab items. Working in the field can build up a thirst, so Ape Case has included a side pullout water bottle pocket. Zippers are supplied for rapid access to the main compartment and accessory pockets, while a front snap buckle makes sure the bag stays shut. The bag provides dual tripod straps on the bottom that can also serve to secure your jacket.

The PRO Series Case can be carried with its removable, adjustable, and wide shoulder strap with contoured shoulder pad, or by the ribbed top grab handle. An ID holder slot is located on the inside of the front flap for your name or business card. All this is backed by Ape's limited lifetime warranty against defects.

    Ape Case PRO Series reviews

ACPRO1200 PRO Series DSLR Camera Case (Medium, Black) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a very flexible setup I don't have an extensive collection of camera gear right now, just a couple of lenses and a Canon DSLR. I picked this bag thinking it would handle what I have, and allow for a little expansion down the road. This bag will work very well for what I want it to do. However, the interior panels arrangement are flipped (left to right) from the open bag picture without any real flexibility in rearranging them. Sure there is plenty of velcro on the front and back, but the left side has a horizontal strip of velcro with no vertical while the right side has a vertical strip with no horizontal. This leaves the cradle for the camera body stuck on the left side because you cannot fully secure a vertical divider to that side or the cradle on the right side. This may seem a trivial matter, however this is a basic function of this bag that has seemingly been over looked. Why use velcro in the first place if there is only one place to put your things? Other than that, this bag will work well for me for the foreseeable future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the hobbyist/Vacationer For the hobbyist/vacationer it's all you'll need. I have My Canon T2i, 2 lenses, 3 filters, 2 batteries & charger, Lens hood, manual, cleaning necessities and still have room for another lens of two. Nothing is cramped but all fits safely within the movable compartments. I did do some re-arranging of the padded partitions, which was no problem at all. For myself it's worked out great. It also has carrying straps for a tripod

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great bag This is quickly becoming one of the best bags, of all I own! After measuring and shopping, I finally found a bag to fit the Rode NTG-2 mic, Zoom H2n audio recorder, and monitoring headphones. And, I already have figured out how to relocate the recorder and move the accessory bag I carry (mounting studs and such) so even the Rode wireless filmmakers kit can be added. The yellow interior is great for finding all things black. There's a small/thin zippered pocket on the top cover flap I didn't notice when shopping for this bag. It's handy to store an extension mic cord. I only wish it came with another colored interior so I could buy another. The yellow tabs on the outside help me differentiate this bag from the other black bags I own for equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This case is AMAZING!!! I give this case 5 stars because it is big, and looked exactly like it did when I saw it online. I use this for my Nikon DSLR and 2 lenses. It fits so many accessories for cameras, and has many pockets to store all the essentials. I personally think that the only thing that isn't great about it is that it feels a tab bit uncomfortable to carry on your shoulder for long periods of time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What I Was Looking For Was looking for a well padded case to store and carry my camera, lenses, flash, spare batteries, and excessories. While it might be a bit much to carry each and every time I want to use my camera, its much better than not having what I need when I need it. We do a lot of traveling and this case is perfect for making sure I haven't forgot something. The case is well constructed and is easily configurable. I've used it several times and found it really isn't cumbersome to wear. The extra padding on the shoulder strap is a nice extra.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great product I bought this bag because I ran out of room in my old bag. This bag has so many pockets and is very durable. The adjustable slots inside the bag are very helpful in securing and keeping my glass and body safe during travels. I am very happy with this bag

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Camera case The camera case is great to put all your camera equipement in;cables. manual, battery, lenses. great protection. Going to use it mostly for storing the camera. i may still need to purchase a smaller bag for on the go. Too big to take to zoo or park.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay bag for the money This is a mid-level case. I like the fact that it has straps for a tripod and it came with several dividers. The way it is set up and some of the dividers are more suited to a smaller lens, where I usually keep a 100mm macro on my camera at all times. It took a while to figure out a way to use the dividers, and I ended up putting another piece of foam in it that I had laying around. There was just no great way to set it up for a bigger lens. The other issue I have is with the strap, which isn't very good. The padded area is sewn in, so it doesn't move as you adjust the bag on your shoulder, and adjusting the bag on your shoulder sometimes causes the strap buckles to come apart. It's easy to put back together, but an annoying thing to deal with. Make sure you make adjustments on the ground is my advice. It is also very heavy with a tripod on it, and the strap pad is angled and really cuts into your shoulder fully loaded. Once I modified with my own foam, it was better, though I would still like a new strap for it. It's cheaper than some similar bags, so that's definitely a plus.
