The Cinevate Inc 47" Atlas 30 Slider & Manfrotto 502HD Head/Base 3/8"-16 Kit from B&H adds a well-made flat head onto a sophisticated, multi-purpose linear tracking system.
The 47" Atlas 30 is a mini-dolly made from a single block of aluminum and designed with a highly refined steel ball bearing system that very smoothly slides a DSLR rig of up to 30 lbs. The Atlas 30 can be used mounted on a tripod or C-stand for additional uses or for simply elevated use.
The Manfrotto 502HD Head is also designed for smooth operation and is as well a well-thought-out and well-constructed device. It features Manfrotto's patented bridging technology that ensures pan friction control is intuitive and protected from knocks. Among other features are independent locks for pan and for tilt, as well as continuously adjustable drag for each.
The Cinevate and Manfrotto are conveniently packaged as excellent matches in quality and function.
Cinevate Inc Atlas 30 Camera Slider with Standard Legs (47")
The Cinevate Atlas 30 is a ball bearing slider supporting up to 30 lb loads. It comes with Cinevate's Standard legs, which feature micro-adjustable, non-scratch, urethane ball feet. The Atlas 30 is made of anodized aluminum and stainless steel, with chrome-plated steel rails. It is very easy to transport, as it breaks down to just several components. This version measures 47" in length.
The slider carriage features a 100mm bowl, allowing for direct attachment of compatible tripod heads, as well as 75mm and flat-head adapters. The slider carriage also has a tool-less locking brake that allows you to securely fix your load anywhere along the rails. This brake functions like a lever and switches from one side to another.
There are 5/8" pass-through holes on the ends that allow mounting the Atlas 30 on two C-stands. Two small tripod adapter plates are included and can be attached to the 5/8" holes in order to mount onto two tripods, offering 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 tripod mount threads.
The Atlas 30 is also compatible with the Cinevate Moco Motion Control System, sold separately, allowing you to incorporate the Moco at a later time if needed.

Manfrotto 502HD Pro Video Head with Flat Base (3/8"-16 Connection)
The Manfrotto 502HD Pro Video Head with Flat Base (3/8"-16 Connection) is an affordable yet remarkably full-featured professional head that represents an advance over the popular 501HDV, with sturdier construction and featuring Manfrotto's patented bridging technology (inherited from the 509HD and 504HD heads). This head is designed for executing cinematic moves with compact camcorders and DSLR video cameras. The 502HD comes in two versions: the "AH" flat-base version, which this one is, and the "A" ball-base version, which is separately available.
Weight capacity is 15.4 lb and counterbalance supports 8.8 lb. The balance plate's 3.27" range allows you to correct for uneven payloads that might be due to matte boxes or exotic DSLR rig configurations.
The bridging technology ensures that the pan friction control is intuitive and easy to set, but also protected against knocks. There are of course independent locks for pan and tilt, and drag for both is selectable in a continuous range from zero to the max level. This allows you to operate the head in a confident, smooth manner using the included pan bar.
Pan drag and tilt drag are continuously adjustable from 0 (no drag) to the maximum level
