D-Link's PowerLine AV 500 4-Port Gigabit Switch is an exceptional way to bring even more devices onto your existing Powerline AV network. This switch features four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and connects to a power outlet in your home or electrical system. The switch can transfer data at a speed of up to 500Mbps and utilizes Quality of Service prioritization to allot greater bandwidth for more lag-sensitive traffic, such as for VoIP calls or streaming video. With the switch you can connect a multitude of devices to the Internet through your Powerline AV network. Those devices might include HDTVs, the Boxee Box by D-Link, Blu-Ray Players, network storage drives, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, security cameras, and more. The switch is also backwards compatible with HomePlug AV Devices.
