The TL-WR940N Wireless N-300 Router is a combined wired / wireless network connection device engineered for small business and home office networking needs. It features MIMO Technology and 3 antennas to enhance wireless robustness and stability. The router boasts data transfer rates of up to 300 Mbps. It produces exceptional, advanced wireless performance, making it great for HD video streaming, VoIP and online gaming. Additionally, the Quick Setup Security (QSS) button on the sleek exterior ensures WPA2 encryptions, safeguarding the network against outside intrusions. It also makes life easy, since you don't have to remember a password. IP QoS based bandwidth control enables network administrators to determine what quantity of bandwidth is allotted to each computer, helping to reduce congestion and prevent bandwidth abuse.

Complying with the IEEE 802.11n standard, TL-WR940N is able to establish a wireless network and achieve up to 15x the speed and 5x the range of traditional 11g products! It also demonstrates a better ability to mitigate data loss over long distances and through obstacles in a small office or a large apartment, even in a steel-and-concrete building. Easily pick up your wireless network with a long-distance connection of which legacy 11g products may not be capable.

This router possesses the speed to work smoothly with virtually any bandwidth-intensive application, including VoIP, HD streaming or online gaming, without lag time. Utilizing its powerful N technologies, the router can also transform your home and even your yard into a large hot-spot.

Clear Channel Assessment (CCA) automatically avoids channel conflicts via the clear channel selection feature, and completely realizes the benefits of channel binding for substantially improved wireless performance.

Feel more secure knowing that TL-WR940N offers WPA / WPA2 encryptions (both Personal and Enterprise) produced by the WI-FI Alliance industry group, promoting interpretability and security for WLAN.

The router includes a CD with an Easy Setup Assistant to lead you through the setup process step-by-step, and even assists you with wireless network settings and security configurations. Even novice users won't have an issue!

    TL-WR940N Wireless N-300 Router is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific Router at any price I bought this router to replace an Asus router that simply quit after less than a year. I couldn't be happier. I use an ethernet connection to my iMac, and wireless to Netflix etc. in the lliving room and the bedroom. I live in one of those old NYC apartments with the high ceilings, very thick walls, floors and ceilings, and I get a very strong & dependable signal everywhere. Netflix streams beautifully, which is important to me since I'm a heavy user. The WiFi signal has tripled the usability of my cell phone. Installation was a breeze, which is not always the case with products that are supposedly Mac compatible. I was up and running on my iMac in less than 10min. And you can't beat B&H prices!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Home Router I've been in IT for over 15yrs. This router was easy to setup, though I think all of home routers are easy. Keep in mind, whenever purchasing new equipment, the firmware is old. Always upgrade to the newest firmware. I'm using this router for a basic home router, no VPN or advanced functions. I'm looking to cover my whole 2500 sq ft. two story house that my other router has failed to provide whole coverage for. This router is in an upstairs bedroom at the far end of the house. This router covers the whole house easily and I've had no issues with it. My kids use netflix from a wireless connection off of a amazon firestick, downstairs, while I'm on a VPN connection to work, and there are no issues. I also stream music from a wireless connection for pandora on my house stereo, again no issues. For the price, you cannot go wrong.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Excellent Range but needs to be reset OFTEN I used to be a computer technician so I know what I'm doing when it comes to routers setup. Anyhow, I have a multi router set up (5) at home that has worked flawlessly for many years now. Recently, I added this router (TL-WR940N V2) to be used as an access point since I needed another router in my basement. In my setup, all routers are used as access points and directly wired to the main router. Everything works fine with this router and I am quite impressed with the range. Unfortunately, the Wifi clients to this routers get disconnected approximately once a day and the router needs to be reset, sometimes it does work for 2 to 3 consecutive days before I need to reset it. The firmware is the latest available and only two computer and one ip cam are configured to access this access point so it not overloaded. I spent many hours trying to find a misconfiguration, a bug or anything that could cause the problem but it seems to be a hardware or firmware problem which only TPLink can do anything about. From my internet search, I found many people have the same problem with this router. When I replace this router with another brand router, everything works fine like the rest of the setup so there is definitely a problem with this router. NOW YOU KNOW.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great bargain, but doesn't last This was installed in a 3 floor home, located in the basement. Signals would reach the 3rd floor and provide about 30Mbps on average there. This router worked fine for the first year but then became flaky. It would drop connections repeatedly. A firmware upgrade finally fixed this. For another 2 years the router was fine, but then it started suffering from problems. TP-LINK recommended applying the latest firmware (about 3 releases after factory). This was done but after a full day of working fine, the router would disappear from the WiFi router list, requiring a reboot. Applying an earlier firmware resulted in good working order for about a day, but then the router would stop allowing connections. I then applied DD-WRT (open source firmware) and it seemed to be fine, but then would suddenly become sluggish.A signal monitor showed extreme deviations from -49dBm to -80dBm with spikes to 99dBm. This is NOT good. It looks like the hardware has worn out.If the router worked A-OK steadily for 3 years then stopped, I'd be OK with that given a $$purchase price. Technology advances end up warranting a change anyway. I have been soured on TP-LINK based on my experience. The router was great when it worked. If only it would have been consistently good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Dropouts I replaced my old D-Link G router with the TP-Link and I am very satisfied. It handles the typical computer traffic just fine. It is superior in wireless video streaming. I can watch sources such as Netflix without the data pauses I experienced with the G router. A great device at a reasonable price.
