The Black Widow Holster Kit from Spider Camera Holster provides you with a comfortable way to wear your camera on your hip and have it at the ready when the shot appears. Using your camera's tripod quick release plate, the Black Widow fits on either your own belt or Black Widow's Belt and permits rapid release of the camera when you need it. It's secure since the camera locks back into place when you replace it back on your hip.

The beauty of the system is that it leaves you hands free to pursue other endeavors such as hiking, cell phones, eating or talking on your cell phone. Your camera remains securely attached to the holster, moving smoothly with your body as you move through the streets.

It's a small lightweight unit that can be stored in your gear bag or luggage when you travel. Since it is so small and unobtrusive, it's a discrete unit that can be worn either over or under your coat - almost like a cowboy might wear his six shooter. Simple attach your camera to your tripod's quick release unit and then to the Black Widow Holster. It's an all-in-one way to have your DSLR with you while eliminating traditional straps that can often be the cause of neck or back irritation.

Eliminates the hassle of dangling cameras and twisted straps. No more strap problems when bending down
Leaves Hands and Upper Body Free

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super convenient Been using this with an OM-D (with wrist strap), and found it super convenient way to keep camera by side and ready to use, without straps over neck/shoulder. In the end, just been using the holster itself, find the belt and side padding kind of dorky. I'd just buy the holster itself if doing again. One thing that would be nice if there was a way to attach the holster to things other than belts (e.g. backpack harnesses) - but guess that would add weight/reduce stength. Also would be nice if didn't require a wrench to tighten. If black rapid fasteners don't need it, why should this?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Camera bumper I tried it out before a trip to use with my new Sony Alpha 6000. I could't avoid bumping the camera against doorways and furniture. I was also unhappy with the need for a ball joint that protrudes from the bottom of the camera making it difficult to place the camera on a flat surface or a lightweight clamp-pod or table top tripod. I also couldn't remove the camera from the holster with one hand. The belt was comfortable as was the position of the camera by my right hand. I switched to a Cosyspeed camslinger bag which gave me all the advantages of the Spider holster and was easier to use with one hand and better protected the camera.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Convenient I hate neck straps. This lets you easily clip it on your hip which is way more comfortable. You can clip it on your own belt, and it stays fine, I just worry about it destroying my belt, so I've resolved myself to using the included belt, even though it doesn't look very nice. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it would be nice if I could release the trigger with the same hand that I'm grabbing the camera with. Instead I have to use two hands to release it from the clasp. Also, the included pad is a little disappointing. I find it only really works if you're securing the straps around your lens, otherwise my camera and lens don't really hang in the ideal spot for the pad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from bicyclist takes pictues of wildlife Bought this holster to buckle on while I ride my bike. Imagine you are on your bike and you come around a bend and there stands an 8 point buck, you stop your bike and swing up your camera and take picture. Or stop bike look through your backpack for your camera then by the time you swing up to take picture its gone. I bought this for the first scenario. And it works great got some good pictures of a Blue Bird thats been dogging me all summer and finally was to get those deer that hang around the park where I ride. Great Invention. Love it. It doesn't get in the way it just hangs down my right side.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Latest trip with our 10 month old On our latest trip with our 10 month old this was the the most useful for stowing the camera away and keeping up with the adventure with the family. It only took a matter of minutes to figure out how to get my DSLR out one handed and get those precious shots and then back away to point at animals with my son and wife. All those vacationers with there neck straps looked so uncomfortable and kept having to put their gear in an unsafe manner to get comfortable. My recommendation, if you like hands and neck free, simple to get in and out of shooting, get this item its so worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GOOD VALUE Worked out great with a d7000, bettery grip and 28mm to 300mm nikon lense. Although it is not recomended for this much weight it is just fine, but i wish the leg pad was much larger. I also added the optional heavy offset camera mounting plate so the camera would hang sideways and i could mount my tripod plate to it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good idea as far as it goes Bought this so I could do things requiring two hands and get weight off my neck. Camera does not sing around like it does on neck strap, very good as far as it goes. With the ball and post sticking out of the bottom of the camera it can be hard to get in and out of bag. Camera can not sit flat on any surface. Weight is distributed to ball, corner of body and lens hood. That how I lost my lens hood. Ball should be hinged to plate so it could sit flat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Where Have You Been All My Life? This is one of those things I wish I had for a long time. It works great and is not a pain in the neck (literally)like regular neck straps. I carried my camera (Nikon D5200 with 28-300mm zoom) around all three days of the recent Labor Day weekend and was thrilled with the holsters performance. The camera was right there when I wanted it and completely out of the way when I didn't. We had some food at an outdoor festival, and I was able to eat without worrying about dripping pizza sauce all over the camera. I even took it out on my motorcycle, although I wouldn't recommend that for dusty or wet riding. On the street it's OK, and the camera is right there ready to go without flopping around. It's also great for indoor shooting. This is a great product. It even includes a wrench to tighten the stud.
