The N2200PLUS is a stellar compact storage server for your home or small office network. It is capable of holding 2 super fast SATA II drives of 3.5" or 2.5" form factor size. This server is also backwards compatible with SATA I hard disk drives of the same form factors. With your drives installed, you have the choice of formatting them in a RAID 0 or 1 configuration, or as a JBOD. To ensure smooth video streaming, snappy system responses, and blazing fast file transfers, the server uses a Cavium Dual-Core Processor and 256 MB of DDR2 memory.
Getting beyond hardware highlights, you may use the server in a variety of different ways, including as an iTunes server, photo web server, media server, printer server, download manager, or a simple surveillance server by connecting a USB webcam (not included). Alternatively, you can configure the server to be a Direct Attached Storage device. Back up your files with your choice of the following included software: Thecus' Backup Utility, Nsync, and Acronis OEM Backup. Plus, the N2200PLUS supports Mac Time Machine, so you can back up your whole Mac hard drive with ease. For connectivity to your network, the server features one Gigabit Ethernet WAN / LAN1 port and one Gigabit Ethernet LAN2 port.
The two 2TB 3.5" SATA Internal Hard Drive Kits provide an exceptional upgrade for your desktop computer's hard disk drive. Each holds a storage capacity of 2TB, fits into your computer's 3.5" drive bay, and features a SATA interface capable of delivering data transfer speeds of up to 6.0 Gbps. The hard drive kits are compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems.
