Hoya A37UVC overview

  • 1Description

The Hoya 37mm HMC UV Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb UV light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.

The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

Hoya HMC filters are multi-coated for reducing flare, ghosting, and reflections on the filter surface. As a result, over 97% light transmission is possible, providing you with additional contrast and high color fidelity.

    Hoya A37UVC reviews

37mm HMC UV Filter is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent glass in this must have filter A good quality UV filter is one of those few must have accessories in my opinion. You can get by without a case or tripod or extra battery, but you will need a memory card of some useful capacity and a protective UV filter. The filter should go on immediately after purchase and stay there. Believe me when I say you will be thankful when the filter takes the brunt of any mishap and it is far easier to clean the removable and flat filter than the recessed, curved and fixed lens element. When you are spending $100s of your hard earned dollars on the body and lens a minor outlay to protect your equipment is the smart thing to do. The replacement of a $ -$ filter is much easier to swallow than the $200, $300, or more you'll fork over to replace a scratched or impact damaged lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality This filter does not degrade the picture quality on my Olympus 45mm 1.8 Micro Four Thirds lens. Observation: while it is NOT thicker than its larger diameter cousins, the fact that it is going on a small lens makes it seem thicker (and the lens seem physically longer). On a Canon EF lens you would not even notice, but on an Olympus Micro Four Thirds set-up, it stands out more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job, price is right! Did some research and the Hoya HMC line of filters seem to be good (comparable to the B+W in many reviews) and much cheaper than other options. Bought it, put it on the lens, and snapped away. Have not noticed any degradation in image contrast, or any increase in flare, etc... and it provides peace of mind against scratching the front element.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hoya HMC UV Filter The Hoya HMC-series filter came highly recommended by those who performed both quantitative evaluations and subjectively by users. As a lens protector alone the HMC series is perfect and they have the bonus of performing as outstanding UV filters to a level as good as and sometimes better than filters costing far more. Thank you Hoya!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coating makes this a great buy I bought this filter to replace the generic filter which came with the lens, which flared badly when taking photos against strong light sources like lights. The difference is amazing, the HMC coating continues to live up to its reputation

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A perfect filter for the money I needed a filter to protect my Olympus lens. This was the perfect value for the money. The mount ring is thin enough that it does not show up in the outer edges of the images.
