Electro-Voice RE-2 overview

  • 1Description

The RE-2 Handheld System from Electro-Voice includes a handheld transmitter, cardioid mic, and a RE-2 receiver. The HTU2 handheld transmitter is a rugged, high-impact handheld transmitter made of ABS plastic. The smart battery feature helps you to insert the battery properly while you're performing on a dimly lit stage. The integrated LCD displays group and channel, frequency, and battery level info.

The N/D 267A Cardioid Mic features vocally optimized bass or VOB technology that provides the performer with reduced resonant distortion at low frequencies. Critical damping of the low frequency resonant provides increased vocal clarity. The increased clarity permits longer working distances and ensures a clean, clear, consistent sound. The low frequency response of the mic varies with the distance from the sound source. Normal bass response is experienced with working distances greater than 24". Working close to the microphone will produce a more robust sound.

The RE-2 receiver operates in the G band and is designed to provide clear reception in any environment. UHF reception eliminates noise and interference caused by crowded frequency bands. Diversity technology further reduces drop-out and interference. The dual internal receivers compete for the strongest possible reception. Over 1,112 possible channels are user programmable in 25 kHz steps over a 24 MHz bandwidth. The ClearScan feature automatically searches for clear group and channel settings allowing quick setup.

  • HTU-2 Handheld Transmitter (G-Band, 614 - 642 MHz)

The Electro Voice HTU-2 is a UHF handheld transmitter designed for use with the RE-2 series wireless microphone receivers. The transmitter features a G-band frequency of 614 to 642 MHz with 38 to 42 TV channels. It also has an internal 1/2 wave antenna. The HTU-2 includes the N/D 267a cardioid condenser microphone head. The cardioid polar pattern is effective in minimizing noise and ambiance at the off-axis sections of the capsule. The high output neodymium magnet improves signal to noise ratio. The result improves gain before feedback when using nearby monitor speakers. The transmitter will operate up to eight hours on a single 9-volt alkaline battery.

    N/D 267a Head
The HTU-2 features an N/D 267a microphone head. The N/D 267a features a cardioid polar pattern which minimizes noise and ambiance at the off-axis sections of the capsule.
    Advanced ClearScan
EV patented, Advanced ClearScan technology allows quick, easy frequency setup. Channels are scanned and the clearest channels within the clearest preset groups are automatically selected.
    Frequency Agile UHF
The receiver and transmitter both operate over UHF frequencies. The system is frequency agile providing over 1,112 possible, user programmable frequencies in 25 kHz steps.
