FUJIFILM XF 18mm f/2 R Reviews

Please Fuji update this lens!!!

It's shockingly poor quality, I'm just stunned at how badly it was constructed and cost $600! It feels like one of those cheap $59 lenses. I read the reviews that it's not built as well as the 23/35 f2s but decided to give it a try since there isn't a 28mm equivalent in such a small package. And really how bad could it be? All the Fuji gear I've owned/used from GFX to X has been pretty good. But this little lens is just the oddest one, terribly made (I'm stunned), seriously noisy kind of slow autofocus, not weather sealed but tack sharp in the center (crazy). Please update this lens!

Not bad, actually...

Far better to shoot than the reviews would lead you to believe. Very usable focal length. Perfect size for an XPro or X-E street rig. Is it soft at f/2? Yes. Does its price exceed its aesthetic qualities? A bit, yeah. Is it fun to take out and shoot? Absolutely. Hey, plus it's the same focal length as the Leica Q family. Good way to see if you really want to upgrade...
