A fast and flexible normal-length prime, the XF 35mm f/1.4 R from FUJIFILM is a 53mm-equivalent lens characterized by its bright f/1.4 maximum aperture. This design benefits working in difficult lighting conditions and also affords greater control over depth of field for isolating subject matter and using selective focus techniques. The optical design employs one aspherical element, which reduces distortion and spherical aberrations in order to achieve higher sharpness and accurate rendering. A Super EBC coating is also featured, which reduces flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity.

FUJIFILM XF 35mm f/1.4 R Reviews
Buttery smooth bokeh
This lens wide open has some of the nicest bokeh I have seen. It's a great walk around lens if you are ok zooming with your feet. Overall, really excited with this purchase!
Beautiful Portraits!
The portraits coming out of this lens are beautiful it's sharp and has a gorgeous bokeh that being said it is a very noisy lens(makes noise when it's focusing) which it's kinda annoying and I did know this before I bought the lens which is why I gave it the 5 stars it's noisy but the portraits are amazing. I use it with the x-t30ii and it pairs nicely with it nice compact size for me.
amazing
it is so nice, it makes everything look good
Excellent
Switching from Nikon F full-frame to Fujifilm X, I found myself seeking a replacement for my treasured 50mm f1.4D, and arrived here. This is a touch tighter on the APC-C sensor but about the same size and weight. To my surprise, the build quality of this modern Fujifilm lens is superior to even the c. 1990 Nikkor lens, and knocks the socks off of anything I have bought from Nikon in the last 10 years. The quality of this hardware is a real strong suit of the Fujifilm X system. The shooting experience is excellent with this lens. With the in-body image stabilization of the X-S10, this is effectively the fastest lens I have ever shot with. Images are evenly lit, the bokeh is pleasing, and the focus is tack-sharp. This is an excellent lens overall. On the con side, I do miss the lock-open for the aperture and the rubber on the focus ring that was typical of Nikon glass- there is very little tactile difference between the focus and the aperture on this lens, so it's easy to mistake the two in the dark. The autofocus is fast and quiet, and that's a good thing, as this lens is definitely designed around autofocus. I find focusing it manually rather awkward. The focus moves smoothly but it does have quite a bit of resistance to it, noticeably more than on other Fujifilm X lenses I own. The lens also lacks any focal distance markings. Overall though, I am very happy with this lens, and use it quite often.
Class is in session
This lens is as sharp as necessary. More importantly, it has The Sauce. I'm guessing that the bokeh is a product of the optical engineers playing around with how they conquer spherical aberration. As you gain experience with this lens, you start to understand how to place yourself and your subject in a way that exploits the lens' ability to create some wonderful 3D effects. I'm not sure it shows up at the scale B&H sets for images here, but the attached photo illustrates what I'm talking about. I've been doing photography for over 45 years and have had pretty much every brand and type of gear. This is a special lens that is unique within the range of all that equipment.
Small and Sharp
It's a wonderful little sharp and compact lens. I chose this over the 33 f/1.4 for size. The noisy af is only a complaint for videographers and possibly event shooters where extreme quiet is needed. I shoot travel, street, and landscapes with this with no reservations at all from wide open on up. Very happy with this modern classic!
LOVE THIS LENS
This lens is so handy, it is small and compact and takes razor sharp photos. Love the wide aperture, and the clarity. Truly happy! Thanks!
I LOVE IT.
What more can i say. Shooting on the streets at night it never leaves my Fuji X T4.
