    Pearstone 100 reviews

Onyx 100 Lens Case (Black) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 39.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Useful Protection I bought this soft case for my Carl Zeiss Jena 180/2.8 Sonnar fitted with a Schneider front cap, Pentacon-K adapter and rear cap. It fits snugly, which means it won't slide out on its own and get damaged accidentally (the whole purpose of buying a case). I then tried my Pentax FA*85/1.4 with the large lens hood and rear cap attached, and again the fit was snug, allowing me to take the lens out when I wanted to and not having it slip out by accident. I ordered a second one for the FA*85 for times when I use another lens on my K30, and highly recommend this case as insurance for larger, squat, expensive glass (even if you're putting it in a larger lens case- best to protect your valuable lenses as much as possible).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Canon 11-24mm f/4.0 lens This case holds the Canon 11-24mm f/4.0 lens perfectly. The fit is snug, which I consider just right. The padding is generous and protects the lens well. If you buy this expensive Canon lens, you NEED this case. The protection it provides is stellar.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent case, not for 70-300mm The case is excellent, but BH recommended it for the Canon 70-300, and the case is a little too short and a little too wide. Otherwise, I'd give it a 5 for quality, lens protection and utility. The hook and loop attachment is very strong, no worries about it coming off a pack strap, and it does look quite water resistant, but I can't attest to its waterproofness.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made and Inexpensive This is a well made and sturdy semi-soft case you'd have no problem committing a $1000 lens to this case for protection. That said, I bought it for a Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 lens (Tamron lenses don't ship with any type of case). Other reviewers said this lens would fit in this case. Well...not really. The lens is a bit too tall, maybe 3/4-1 taller than the case. Since it's a soft case, you can still use it, but I wouldn't call a fit necessarily. However, don't let that dissuade you from using this case (on a smaller lens).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Case for the Money The case has plenty of padding all around and on the bottom. Would have liked to see a little more padding on the top. Pearstone should consider making a deluxe version with a better zipper, and brackets to hold the strap. For what I paid, great case. I would buy a deluxe version if they offered it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's bigger than you think - seriously I got this for my Tokina 12-28mm, which is fairly wide at the end, especially with the (reversed) hood. Although I read the reviews that state this thing was bigger than expected, I really didn't think it was possible it would have dimensions like this! Don't be fooled by the scale in the pictures here. Most of the time you see cases with a ratio like this, they're FAR smaller than this one is. And although I'm no pro, I have never seen a lens that is as wide as the inside part of this case. I have no idea what I'll end up using this for, but I doubt it's a lens. On the other hand, this bag has a great selection of attachment/carry options, and overall seems to be of good build quality, which is why I can't really give it less than 3 stars, even as annoyed as I am by this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fit I keep my Tokina 16-28mm f2.8 in it, and it's a perfect fit with lots of padding. I'm very satisfied with the protection, the styling, the materials and the quality of manufacture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much bigger than expected! These lens cases are extremely durable and high quality, they would protect your lens without fail. They have a shoulder strap and belt attachment. However, they are so thick and padded that they are not practical to use in my camera bag. They just take up way too much space. I would send them back, but I would lose some money on shipping, so I decided that I would use them on my equipment shelf for storing lenses that are not in everyday use. These lens cases look great and can hold other items you want to protect as well. Please order with caution keeping in mind that these are great protection if you have the space to lug them around. I will be looking into the Porta Brace lens cups as an alternative. The Porta Brace cups are much thinner, but still provide moderate protection that can fit easily in my camera bag.
