The Polaroid 72mm Neutral Density Fader Filter is a solid variable neutral density filter providing a reduction of about 1.3 to 8.6 stops. The ND 3x to ND 400x density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. The degree of density is easily controlled by rotating the front filter ring, allowing you to previsualize the additional exposure length required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

Variable neutral density filter allows you to dial in differing amounts of density scene to scene.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST QUALITY FOR PRICE I shot a commercial outdoors and this filter really came in handy to get the proper exposure while maintaining the desired depth of field. Very clean filter with no issues. Color was good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for our needs/price At the highest levels there is definitely some black spots or polarization that is showing up, but overall it's a very decent, effective variable ND filter. If I know I need to knock down near the top I just put on another ND filter on top to take care of those situations. We've had about 3-4 times where a lens has been dropped slightly and these ND filters absorb the impact. They break pretty easily but that's better than a $1K lens. If you're looking for an affordable, quality variable ND for DSLR video/photo, this is it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good ND Filter This product made my 50mm 1.2 lens achieve the cinematic feel in broad daylight. I am super pleased with it. I purchased it specifically for my 50mm 1.2 and have no complaints. It was reasonably priced and I like the fader style. It gives me the NDs i need in one filter. I'd recommend the product to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bargain Just received this filter and used it for the first time this weekend. Worked exactly as expected. Could have spent hundreds more, and I'm sure that some pros will see a difference. But for the advanced amateur such as myself, it is perfect.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from vignetting problem Very strong vignetting with a Wide angle lens (tried it in a 24mm). The note on description says that this can happen, but didn't expect it to be so bad!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product Useful in bright daylight to allow for broader range of shutter speeds, aperture, etc. At wide angle some vineigh effect may occur.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great quality the build quality of the filter is great for the price. it's not some cheap plastic material it feels really solid. it also can get really dark unlike some other ND filters. definitely worth it if you're interested in getting one

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected Great price for the size and works as advertised. Also, if you are going to buy a polarizing filter, why not from the people who perfected it... or the holding company that owns the name. ;)
