Lowepro 100 overview

  • 1Description

The mica Lowepro Event Messenger 100 Shoulder Bag is a lightweight yet durable messenger-style bag that holds a DSLR or mirrorless system camera and accessories. It can hold a DSLR with an attached 18-55 lens and 1-2 extra lenses, or a flash with one lens, accessories. It can also hold a mirroless camera with an attached lens and 2-3 extra lenses, or a flash and two lenses, and accessories.

The bag has an easily accessible main compartment, adjustable dividers, a front flap, as well as an additional zippered closure for the main compartment. The interior is customizable using adjustable touch fastened dividers.

The Dual-Mode Flap system consists of touch fasteners that can be used to close the bag without using the snap coupler. The fasteners can fold back so that when you open the bag, it will not make the ripping sound that hook-and-loop touch fasteners are known for. The front zippered accessory compartment contains pockets for pens, memory cards and your phone. The bag is carried by an adjustable shoulder strap or its top grab handle for quick access retrieval. It's made from a combination of a nylon polyurethane exterior and polyester, tricot, foam interior.

Event Messenger 100 Shoulder Bag (Mica) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 53.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit for my Canon t3i I got to see this bag before I bought it so I was pretty sure it would fit my camera and I was proved correct. The canon t3i fits snugly inside the bag with its 18-55mm kit lens attached. However if you have a larger lens with a longer zoom range you would have to remove it and stow it next to the camera. But if you're using a smaller lens like I am there is room for the camera with the lens attached and either another lens or whatever else you need to carry with you. I carry all the other small components I need in the bag, battery, cables, small notebook etc. Also well padded and sturdy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good bag or a ILC or small DSLR This is a good messenger style bag for an ILC or small DSLR with a lens attached and one or two relatively compact lenses. I use it mostly for my Nikon D5200 with a Sigma 18-200 II OS HSM or Nikon 18-105 VR attached and a Sigma 10-20. Sometimes I add a Nikon 10.5mm fisheye. With the fisheye it's very snug, but it fits. For any more than this consider the Event Messenger 150. I also use it for my Nikon P7800 and Nikon SB-300 flash. In short, I like the bag, but I wish it was a little bigger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice bag for micro four thirds cameras My wife uses this bag to carry her Olympus em1 with 14-150mm lens attached. The bag is big enough to carry extra batteries, charger, remote shutter release, lens brush, and extra memory cards. I should mention that it carries all this with the camera strap still attached to the camera which takes up a lot of additional space. The bag is well designed and can be configured to suite individual needs within reason, given its small size. It is also well made and stylish enough to carry comfortably without screaming...camera equipment. We think the bag is well worth the price and suites our needs perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not a bad bag. Not a bad bag, but a little on the small side. You might look at the Event Messenger 150. I managed to stuff my Olympus OM-D E-M5 II, and three lenses in it. The only things I don't like are: (1) the shoulder strap has very little padding, (2) it has those @#$% Velcro patches. You can unfold the Velcro, but it still makes noise. A couple of sealable pouches on the sides would have been nice. It only has open pockets on the sides.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like it We wanted a casual and not-very-big camera bag, so that we could have it with us any time without looking like professional photographers... We only want to carry our Nikon D5100 with attached 18-55mm lens, but without any additional lens, flash, ... This bag is perfect for that. You can put the camera, with still some additional room for a few more small items in the big compartment. In addition you have several little pockets, where you can but your wallet, phone, extra SD card, a small book, ...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Bag, Small Issues I WANTED a small bag, mainly to store by camera body (700D) or hold an extra lens. This bag fits my needs perfectly. I use one divider on the inside and can store my body on its side, a medium sized lens (usually the Sigma 50mm f/1.4), and either a pancake lens or extension tube on top of the lens. Or, I can hold two lenses and a pancake lens/extension tube and never put the camera in the bag. The back has a pouch that is great for grabbing microfibers or filters. THE PROBLEMS: The buckle is far under the front flap, making it difficult to reach when wearing your back. Also, even with the bag empty, i have not been able to fit a water bottle in the side pouches. But for the low price, it's really nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice bag for the money I use this bag to carry an Olympus omd em 10 mkii camera with the M Zuiko 14-42 EZ lense mounted on it . In addition I also carry the M Zuiko 9-18 mm and 75-300 mm lenses and they all fit in the main compartment with a little room to spare. The front compartment easily holds an extra battery, lense brush, cleaning cloth and lense cleaning solution again with a little room to spare. This makes for a light weight compact system that can always be with me. The quality of the bag is very good for the money. My wife uses the same model bag to carry her EM-1 with the M Zuiko 14-150 mm attached along with similar accessories (not the lenses) extra batteries including the charger, etc. we both like these bags a lot.Peter

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little bag As others have noted this is a small bag. I have a T3 with a 18-55 lens and it fits fine. Currently I have one divider in the main compartment which leaves just enough room for the battery charger. It is about the size of a pack of cigarettes (a flash would fit nicely here instead). I can fit the camera lens down and still have enough room for a 50-250 lens next to the camera, but it is a really tight and I don't recommend this. It becomes difficult to get the camera in or out. With just the camera and the 18-55 it is easy to pull the camera out of the bag. I wish the front flap didn't cover the entire front of the bag as it makes it harder to unfasten the buckle, but I usually only latch it closed when I throw the bag in the car. Once you get where you are going you can rely on the Velcro to keep the flap closed.
