The R-MIX Audio Processing Software from Roland provides visual audio manipulation, which is powered be V-Remastering technology that was developed in conjunction with VariPhrase. This software lets you see various components of a stereo mix as color-coded clouds. This method of interfacing with an audio file allows you to select individual components of a mix and freely edit them to create karaoke files, study tools, remixes, and mash-ups. Old recordings can be cleaned up by applying noise reduction and effects.

The R-MIX software makes it easy to create "minus-one" files from existing songs by lowering the level of a pre-recorded vocal or any other instrument, ideal for karaoke or playing an instrument part with backing. Alternately, you can isolate any instrument in a mix and then slow it down to learn it more easily. You can also change panning positions and levels, adjust speed and pitch, and even add effects to individual components, resulting in entirely new mixes and mash-ups. Of course, you can save your creations as music files for playback on standard music devices or for importing into popular music software programs.

R-MIX offers all of this capability with only a single screen to navigate. There is no need to switch screens or dig through menus. The controls are designed to promote a natural workflow for terrific ease-of-use and quick operation. A built-in help window is provided for each task, eliminating the need for a printed manual. R-MIX works on Mac and Windows computers for use in practically any home or studio.

Note:
R-MIX is a 32-bit application, but can run on 64-bit versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7. Apple computers running Microsoft Windows are not supported.
V-Remastering Technology
The V-Remastering technology at the heart of R-MIX was developed in conjunction with VariPhrase. This software lets you see various components of a stereo mix as color-coded clouds of energy and frequency matter onscreen as a song plays.
Component Manipulation
By allowing you to select and manipulate individual components in a mix, the software enables you to create karaoke files, study tools, remixes, and mash-ups, and even clean and remaster old recordings.
High-Quality Sound
Even when you alter a track to an extreme level, R-MIX still provides high-quality, natural results without artifacts, glitches, or over-modulated sounds.
"Minus-One" File Creation
You can create "minus-one" files from existing songs by lowering the level of a pre-recorded vocal or any other instrument, ideal for karaoke or playing an instrument part with backing.
Instrument Isolation
Any instrument in a mix can be isolated and then slowed down for more effective learning.
Mash-Ups and Mixes
You can change panning positions and levels, adjust speed and pitch, and even add effects to individual components to create brand-new mixes. The ability to use 2 pairs of stereo tracks within R-MIX let you create mash-ups of your favorite songs. Delay and reverb effects let you add depth and expression to any and all elements of a mix.
Remastering
A built-in Noise Cancel feature lets you eliminate hiss and hum from a track, ideal for cleaning up older recordings. You can then adjust the individual instrument levels and apply effects to create a remastered version.
File Export
Your creations can be saved as music files for playback on standard music devices or for importing into popular music software programs.
Single-Screen Operation
R-MIX offers plenty of capability with only a single screen to navigate. There is no need to switch screens or dig through menus. The controls are designed to promote a natural workflow for terrific ease-of-use and quick operation. A built-in help window is provided for each task, eliminating the need for a printed manual.
Wide Compatibility
R-MIX works on Mac and Windows computers for use in practically any home or studio. There is even an R-MIX Tab app (available separately) that provides a simplified version of R-MIX for your iPad.
