Handy Stand (7.4') is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from These stands really are handy!!! I have a big Tamrac Expedition 8x backpack that holds 3 of these stands inside the main compartment, it also holds 3 Dracast LED 160 on-camera lights in the laptop compartment, plus a lot of other gear. One requirement I have for my light stands is that they must have a 5/8's thread on top. Most of the time I screw on a Vello Multi-Function Ball Head (CS-BH2) and then screw on a LED light. If I am using a compact flash unit, then I screw a Stroboframe Flash Mount Adapter (300-SHO) onto the top of the Vello ball head instead of the LED, and then mount the flash to the cold shoe adapter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost Perfect I was worried that being a compact travel stand that it would be very flimsy. Imagine my surprise that it's able to hold an Elinchrom 39 Deep Octa softbox with a Ranger Quadra power pack for a counter weight hanging from the lowest knob. I'm impressed, even if it is within the 5.5 lbs load capacity. The flaw? I've had it less than a month, used it on 2 smaller shoots, and some of the rivets holding the legs together have seriously loosened up. Now using a rubber band to hold the tips of the legs together for packing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good compact stand. Likely as good a reverse folding compact stand as you'll get for the money. Sturdy enough for the smaller lights it is designed for. The plastic knobs and collars seem like pretty good plastic that will not break unless really banged around excessively. Must tighten fairly hard with about 360 degrees of rotation to the knob to secure risers without slippage, because the compression collars give some resistance before flexing enough to hold firmly (so I test after tightening to assure no slippage). Overall happy--build quality good. The four sections gives it a good ratio of high to low, but the shorter sections of a compact stand makes the slight drawback of having to tighten four knobs to get full extension (but necessary for such compactness when folded).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than the Impact LS-RL7 The only reason I bought two of these stands is because I also own a pair of the Impact LS-RL7 stands, which will inevitably be offered as a cheaper alternative to this Kupo. I'm going to be succinct with my review/comparison and recommend that you just pay the small extra bit of money and buy the Kupo stand. Not only is the Kupo stand just as compact as the Impact version, it's also more robustly manufactured. Thicker metal, better barreling for the riser, tighter clamps, everything. The Impact stand had a frustrating tendency to unceremoniously fall apart in my travel bags, and I'd occasionally have to fish around for a nut, a washer, and a clamping screw floating around my bag, to ensure that I could continue using it on a shoot. Not a problem with this Kupo stand. Otherwise, this stand works as you would expect it to. It's small enough to fit in most bags -- I've wedged it into backpacks and small rolling bags -- it holds lights and modifiers as it should, so long as it's not terribly windy where you are (though a little weight around the base or on the legs would solve that problem), and its reach is tall enough for most situations. I'm happy with these, and I'd recommend them to anyone looking to build a portable kit for location shooting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not for heavy items Certainly the most compact stand you could buy. However, the locks on the stand really need to be cranked down to work. I bought two for a travel set for my HTC Vive and it certainly does the job for that purpose (1/2 pound weight). I would not mount heavier lights to them though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product for the price. Use this for my off the camera flash with soft box. Quite sturdy and light weight. Easy folding for easy carry. The tightening of each segment needs a little muscle especially if the segment is not fully extended, otherwise is a good product for daily studio use.
