  • 1Description

The Umbrella Mount for Speedlights from Dot Line Corp features an insulated shoe, with a socket for speedlights, and a locking pin. The shoe may be rotated 360° and locked into the position you wish. It may be removed to reveal a standard 1/4 - 20" thread male bolt. The ball rotates 360° and tilts 180°, and the base has a reversible spigot with 1/4 - 20" and 3/8" female threads. Removing the spigot allows the holder to be mounted on to a light stand with a 5/8" spigot, and it accepts standard umbrella shafts.

Dot Line DL-0315 reviews

Umbrella Mount for Speedlights is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Decent but not great The plastic shoe is not precisely made - I bought seven of these and the flash is very tight going onto a couple of them. Also, the ball joint won't tighten enough with a couple of them so the weight of the flash causes the joint to slip.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap quality Not something I would mount my Nikon 910 Speedlight on. The flash shoe slips off very easily. Just not well designed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too light Works with only the smallest strobes. Does not hold position well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from One fatal flaw I love the design for the most part. Fits on standard light stands, has 3/8 and 5/8 screw adpapter. The one fatal flaw that i found is that plastic show mount on the top of the item does not line up at all with the hole for the umbrella. I thought that maybe it was just manufacturing issue, so i tried to tighten to make it line up and the screw broke. I supose that this really isn't a huge problem because normally you can just swivel the speedlight but to me it didn't make sense.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works really well for a cheap price this product is easy to use and the ball joint makes it very versatile. Others have complained about the angle of the hot shoe being crooked, but it is completely adjustable, they just did not know what they were doing. I do recommend this and have since bought another one of these for my other light stand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mount I've used this mount to angle my flash and it's attached flash-mounted lightbox, towards my subject. Works like a charm for my needs. I don't own an umbrella, but maybe one day I will give it a try since i have this mount.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hotshoe Doesn't line up Hotshoe bracket holder does not line up with hole for umbrella, making one have to swivel speedlight 15-45 degrees in order to shoot through umbrella. Broke on 2nd usage, poorly made. Not recommended
