question

Bare drive?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yep, no parts, pieces, or screws. Makes for a great external hard drive to store files, photos, and vids. You can get an external hard drive docking station for this purpose.

question

I have storage needs of 10-20 TB. I like to have duplicate data in two different places and in the cloud. If I just load data onto the drive and store the eSata drives, are they somewhat safe from drive failure since they are not being used constantly? Or will they fail anyway?
Asked by: Barbara
I've been using the same approach for several years and have had no problems. I do, though, run them for several weeks to help ensure there are no manufacturing defects. Hope that helps.

question

OK for Apple G5?
Asked by: Michael H.
Mac OS X doesn't limit hard drive size, so it should be fine. The G5 is ancient in terms of computers, of course, but should run fine. I've used external enclosures with 2TB Barracuda drives on a MacPro laptop with a G4 processor.
