This Erin Manning PocketBox Educational Flash Softbox Kit from Wescott is designed to be used with any off-camera flash. The PocketBoxes set up in seconds, soften harsh light and eliminate red eye. The kit provides three compact softboxes of different sizes and shapes to familiarize you with the light characteristics of each and how their reflections appear in the eyes of your subjects or other reflective objects.

Learn alongside Erin Manning on the included Educational DVD as she takes you on multiple photo shoots to explain the basics about on-camera and off-camera flash. Each lesson guides you step-by-step through camera operation, flash settings, posing and capturing candid shots of your subjects. You'll also see what can go wrong on a photo shoot and how to remedy the problem. If you've felt intimated by this equipment in the past, don't worry! Erin's down-to-earth teaching style makes everything easy to understand.

The softboxes include an ultra-reflective silver interior that maximizes light output, removable inner diffusion panel that spreads light for a soft, even output, durable black backing that prevents spill light and soft grip panels to help safely secure the PocketBox to a flash.

Erin Manning PocketBox Educational Flash Softbox Kit is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's ok if you've experimented enough bouncing flash and using diffusers you'll know this goes along with the plethora of the others claiming to be the one. This is not a kit that will diffuse your flash shots in all situations, just some. Build quality is definitely on the cheap side, which I think the stitching of the materials should have been a priority instead of the cute pouch to house the diffusers. I'll stick to my Stofen and RAW.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, almost perfect While I find the round and large square diffusers to be more effective for general softening and wrapping light, all do a good job at what the are intended to do. I do find that they slip off the flash head eventually, but that seems to be an issued with all modifiers that are not custom manufactured for a specific flash head. I will continue using them and time on on location and cannot bring off-camera light.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent mix These soft boxes are a great addition to any flash kit. They are built well. They utilize thin but stiff wire to keep the diffuser shape, while the rest is all fabric, allowing them to fold flat. They fit my moble flash heads in a simple and secure way, using elastic and Velcro. The variety of shapes and sizes is useful, if only making a subtle difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice kit Use for portrait photography for diffused light with off-or-on-camera flash for one person or perhaps two if close together (with the rectangular softbox turned horizontal for 2 people). Nice to light small area, like face(s) where you want the light to fall of and not be bright on the full person or a large area. Three different sized softboxes is nice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from well made, but velcro wares out the pocketBox gives a nice light, the product itself is of good construction, it's a little cumbersome to put on a speed light, but that is ok. the only problem is the velcro waring out after using the lightBox often (75 times, 100 times?) ... i probably will go to my tailor at the cleaners to have a new velcro sawn onto the strap ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice! Wish I had found this sooner! Great soft boxes for lighting small areas, up-close shots, or two people up close and close together. Also great for small product photography, or for plants. Having 3 shapes is great. They are easy to attach to flash, with a strap wrapping around and attaching with Velcro. Well made. I definitely recommend the kit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Brilliant idea Having the 3 options makes it easy to determine what is going to work in any lighting situation. These pocketboxes are east to use and the tutorial that comes with them is a great primer for people with no experience but is too basic for a professional. However, I'm somewhere in the middle and found it very helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! I purchased this for a photo shoot where I knew I would have to use flash. Was quite worried about taking flash pictures as I am not a huge fan of them. However, this kit was just what I needed. All soft boxes were easy to attach to flash and the educational DVD gave some really good tips. Highly recommend it!
