High speed, continuous shooting is made possible with the High Speed Receive mode, permitting up to 14.5 fps firing at up to 1/250 sec for focal plane shutter and 1/500 sec. for leaf shutters.

The design of the Plus III incorporates a side-view LCD screen and touch pad interface for switching between modes, zones, and settings. It connects to any camera featuring a hot shoe and is also compatible with a variety of cables for linking to lighting and other remote systems.

32 Channels
Featuring 16 standard and 16 Quad-Zone Triggering channels, finding an open channel to use is simplified and efficient. Switching between channels is accomplished with one-touch operation.
Quad-Zone Triggering
You can program up to 4 working zones for remote control of flashes. This allows you the ability to wirelessly activate and deactivate your flashes, enabling you to remain in camera position without having to manually adjust lighting setups. This is ideal for using multiple lighting setups and managing remote cameras as needed.

When set in TxRx mode, the transceiver is able to instantly switch between transmitter and receiver modes for the greatest amount of flexibility. You can also manually override this and choose to have it act as a dedicated transmitter or receiver.
Auto-Relay Mode
When using 3 PocketWizard radios; you can remotely trigger a camera to fire and trigger a flash simultaneously. Utilizing the Auto-Sensing technology, the transceiver mounted to the camera can instantly receive a signal from an auxiliary transceiver, and then instantly convey the transmission to a remote flash. This provides a simplistic and highly efficient remote workflow.
Long Range Capability
When used in ideal conditions, this transceiver is capable of producing and receiving a signal up to 1640' / 500m away. When conditions are not ideal for a long range transmission, Long Range mode can be used to nearly double the effective range of the signal. There is also Repeater mode, which will repeat the signal several times, increasing the possibility of a successful transmission at long range.
High Speed Capability
When in High Speed Receive mode, this transceiver is capable of triggering cameras or flashes up to 14.5 fps. Normal performance also permits triggering up to 12 fps. It is also capable of sync speeds up to 1/250 sec. for focal plane shutters and 1/500 sec. for leaf shutters.
Simplified User Interface and Design
Clearly displayed on a 1" / 2.5cm backlit LCD, all of the channels, zones, and modes can be configured using a soft-touch keypad. The design of the transceiver also incorporates a side-view LCD for easier viewing and an internal antenna for a less obtrusive appearance.
Wide Compatibility and Connectability
The transceiver is easily attached to most cameras through the hot shoe, with no extraneous cables required. For attaching to remotes and lights, there is an all-in-one sync port for wide compatibility. Cables are included for attaching from miniphone to miniphone, miniphone to phono, and miniphone to PC sync for cameras without a hot shoe. It is also compatible with all PocketWizard transmitters and receivers (of the same frequency) as well as PocketWizard-enabled lighting and metering equipment. I have always used PW triggers and these new ones are nice. My only complaint is battery life. They seem to eat batteries faster than the old triggers I have.

Pocket Wizards Essential Tool For Lighting

I was going to do an outdoor shoot and the PW triggers I had were getting old and sometimes unreliable, I picked up this pack of Pocket Wizards to connect a 1dX II to Canon 580 I and II speedlites. I also used them to trigger my Henesel Integra monolights. They worked well for me. They were very reliable. I though the cae was a bit small. I think it should have been bigger to hold the PWs pluss the assorted cables. It can hold some cables but I wa nted to keep more in the case.

gotta love 'em

I bought this to add some remote camera capability for shooting soccer, baseball, softball and basketball. The yellow helps with spot-checking the setup from a distance. PWIII's of any color are great for firing remote cameras (you need the right cable btw) and excellent for firing strobes as well.

question

Are these compatible with the Profoto Pro-8a packs?
Asked by: Anonymous
It will depend on which Profoto Pro-8A power pack you own. Of the options we carry, only the Profoto Pro-8A 2400 Air Power Pack, B&H # PRP8A2400PW, is listed as having the PocketWizard Radio Receiver built into the power pack; the other options use Profoto's own Air Remote system, not the PocketWizard system. As such, with the Profoto Pro-8A 2400 Air Power Pack, B&H # PRP8A2400PW, you would only need one PocketWizard Plus III Transceiver connected to your camera to trigger your power pack. With the other options, you would need two (2) PocketWizard remotes to trigger the pack; one connected to the camera, and one connected to the power pack via a 1/4 phono sync cable.

question

Need to attach Plus III in receiver mode to the back of a monolight which requires RCA phono plug (1/4 ). I can connect the Plus III via its supplies chord and adapters to the monolight, but they just hang from the light via the coiled chord. Not safe or acceptable. Do I really have to jerry-rig some way of connecting the Plus III to the monolight? Hasn't PocketWizard provided suitable accessories to accomplish this? Found nothing at their website and the owner manual is also little help.

Being that the Plus III unit has a on the back, the Impact Atom Clamp With 1/4-3/8 Screw Adapter B&H # IMME100K can be connected to it. This is going to allow the Pocket Wizard to rest closer to the stand.

question

Hi,I have three Nikon Cameras D4, D700 and D7100 and two Speedlight SB900 and SB910.Now I would like to trigger all three cameras and the two speed lights, which are mounted off-camera with a remote trigger that I hold in my hand. What is the ideal PocketWizard equipment combination to achieve this setup ?ThanksAndreas
Asked by: Anonymous
Each camera will need a Pocketwizard Plus 3 attached to the hot-shoe.Then each will need an appropriate Pocketwizard sync cord attached to the Plus 3 and the camera. The D4 and D700 use the same cable, PocketWizard N10-ACC-1 Pre-Trigger Remote Cable The link is, http://bhpho.to/18NSJq4The D7100 uses a different cord, PocketWizard N-MCDC2-ACC-1 Pre-Trigger Remote Cable. And that link is, http://bhpho.to/18NSDyXThen each flash will need a Plus lll attached to them. And you need another pocketwizard plus 3 three as a trigger. This set up is for manual flash not TTL. The channels on the trigger and the camera need to be the same and the flashes need to be set to one channel higher than the camera.

question

Could these trigger the Profoto Air Monolights w/o having another receiver hooked up to it?
Asked by: Jennifer
No, it will not. The Profoto AIr monolights has Profoto's own Air system built into the units, and they require the use of a Profoto Air Remote or Air Sync transceiver. If you wish to use PocketWizard remotes, you would need one for the camera as a transmitter and one connected to the lights as a receiver for wireless communication and triggering between the units.

I have 2 Alien Bee lights. Would this PocketWizard work with them?
Asked by: Cyndi W.
Yes! You will need one PocketWizard for your camera and one for each remote strobe. The Plus III radios come with a miniphone to miniphone cable, which is the size you need for the AlienBee.
