If you have MP3 or JPEG files burned to DVDs, you can enjoy these using the DVP-SR210P as well. This player can play a wide variety of CD and DVD formats, and supports a bevy of file formats.

More than likely, you may at some point want to switch the movie you're watching and come back to it later. Luckily, this DVD player can remember where in the movie you were when you popped out the last six discs you watched. The DVP-SR210P also does fast (and slow) playback with sound so you can easily find the spot where you were, if you're not playing one of its remembered discs.

With support for Dolby audio formats, you can connect the player to your home theater system and enjoy immersive sound for all your movies. It also has a coaxial digital out for connecting to older A/V receivers or other equipment.

And last but not least, the DVP-SR210P is ENERGY STAR compliant, so in addition to being affordable now it can save you money in the long run. Boasting just a 5-watt power draw, it can save you money on monthly energy bills while saving the environment.

question

Using component cables ( worth the extra cost ? ) really increase picture definition and color saturation over the included 3 wire cables in the box?
Asked by: Anonymous
I'm a believer in component cables although I prefer HDMI. That said, trying to set this player up using component cables and Sony's instructions was an exercise in futility. I'm no newb when it comes to audio/video (like 50 years experience) but I ended up using the composite cables that Sony provided rather than return this unit. Otherwise it's really a good value.

question

Does it play blue ray
Asked by: Anonymous
It's a regular DVD player. Regular DVD players cannot play BluRay discs. If they did, there would be no reason to buy a BluRay player. BluRay players use a laser with a narrower bandwidth that can play back the info in the grooves of the disc. A Blu Ray player can play BluRay discs and regular DVDs.

question

Buying component cables really improves the picture quality over the included cables in the box?The progressive scan is much better in this sony player?
Asked by: Anonymous
Almost all DVD players have been capable of progressive scan for at least 15 years. In the beginning, people had old fashioned tube type TVs that were interlaced. The progressive scan was not noticeable on that type of TV. With modern HD TVs, the picture is always progressive, and will look better with component video cables, than it will with old fashioned composite video cables. Component video requires three video cables and two audio. You can use the audio cables included in the box. Just disregard the yellow cable. The following component cable will be good:
