The Flolight KIT-FL-110AW 3-Point Lighting Kit (5400K Daylight) is a great choice for a studio system when high output, low running cost and soft light are priorities. The FL-110AW uses two 55W fluorescent lamps to give you an impressive 500W hotlight equivalent. That's impressive enough, but it does it with minimal heat and a low power draw of only 106.2W. That means that you won't toast the talent while saving money both on kilowatt usage of the fixture and on AC costs that would have been needed when the hotlights you used turned your studio into a sauna. And with a lamp life of about 10,000 hours the FL-110AW is practically maintenance free.

In situations where low light is required the built in 30 - 100% dimmer allows you to reduce power either on the unit's side panel or with the included wireless remote control. Beam control is provided by the built-in 4-way barndoors and the included diffusion cloth.

Each fixture in the kit comes with, 2 lamps and 2 yokes to offer you a choice of vertical or horizontal mounting, a diffusion cloth, light stand and a soft bag.

Fluorescents give naturally soft even light. The included slide in diffuser provides an even softer light.
The FL-110AW is perfect for studio or location work where power hungry incandescents can quickly overload available power. With just a fraction of the heat of incandescents you also avoid cooking your talent or constantly running air conditioning.
The FL-110AW utilizes two 55W Biax lamps.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay. Far. Away. Granted, I pinched my nose ordering these. I'm just toeing my way into building my own kit, and was trying to be cost conscious. I figured: These aren't Kino's, but as long as I accept that going in I won't be too disappointed. Flolight found a way to take expectations that were already on the stairs to the basement, drag those expectations all the way down, and bury them in the dirt after jackhammering away the concrete floor. First: I went to check whether or not there was a fuse installed in the first of the three lights I pulled out of the box. The fuse is a small cartridge fuse in a housing that's meant to be twisted a quarter turn before it pops up. The seat that the fuse's case sits in wasn't properly attached to the light's frame so when I went to turn the cap and remove the fuse, the ENTIRE assemble turned within the light. I could hear the wires within the light fixture twisting. In the end, I had to hold the base of the fuse fixture with a pair of thin needle nose pliers and twist the cap with my fingers to remove the fuse. Second: The second light I pulled out seemed more solid than the first. The fuse assembly was solid and worked as expected. The light turned on after the bulb was installed and the unit plugged in. All good so far. It's when I went to remove the bulbs in an effort to see how easy they were to swap that the problem arose: I didn't apply much pressure - just enough to wiggle the bulb out of it's seat - but part of the ballast simply FELL OUT as the bulb was removed. At that point, I didn't need to open the third light. I didn't want to know what little design flaw was waiting to rear it's head. I packed them up and sent them all back. Waiting on my refund now and eyeing something from Dedo or just one Kino. Stay. Far. Away. These are truly the definition of pay for what you get.
