Cavision ND Glass Filter (3 x 3", 2-Stop)
Key Features
  • 0.6 Optical Density
  • 2mm-Thick Glass Construction
  • Increase Exposure Length
  • Greater Control over Exposures
The 3 x 3" Cavision ND Glass Filter provides a 2-stop exposure reduction. This 0.6 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By increasing your aperture or slowing your exposure time, you can control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

Cavision Glass ND Filter Reviews

As good as any at a great price.

These are great filters. I shot a test comparing a Cavision ND.9 with Schneider, Tiffen and Smallrig ND.9 filters using a Red Komodo with Nikon Lenses. The Cavision looked just as good as the Schneider and Smallrig filters with no noticeable change in color or contrast. The Tiffen ND.9 was a little more green. Sharpness was identical with all filters. The price of the Cavision is very reasonable and it is great they make a 3x4 size. I just wish they made a bigger variety of filters like 85, 85ND, LLD etc. Highly recommended.

For the price, it's excellent.

I have two Pocket Cameras and a Micro, which means I'm always playing with filters. Given the size of these cameras, and because I handhold most of the time, I prefer a 3x3 matte box - they're much lighter... I'm kind of a snob about what I put in front of a lens though, so I usually go for the high priced spread, but saw this filter for less than half the price of the name brands (most of which don't even offer much in 3x3 size anymore)... If you know about NDs and IR, you know that there can be dramatic color shifts above 0.6 or 0.9. This 1.5 ND is excellent, the footage grades identically to footage shot without an ND using my CC presets in FCPX.

question

Is it possible to see through this in daylight to compose the shot?

Hola, si, con estos filtros puedes componer sin perder composicin. No tienen color como otros. he usado Lee y te dan un tono morado, estos no. (Hello, yes, with these filters you can compose without losing composition. No color other. I used Lee and you get a purple hue, they do not.)
