Mini Maglite Pro+ 2AA LED Flashlight with Holster (Black) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Rodney Dangerfield of LED lights. Most flash light addicts look down their collective noses at the venerable mini-maglite because it doesn't put out 1000+ ANSI lumens, throw for 2500 meters, or run on Li-Ion batteries. The lack of a jagged tacti-cool bezel or 8 different strobe patterns also takes points away from the maglite in a flashoholic's opinion. What it will do is put out a very respecatable amount of light using very common batteries and continue to do so hours after the aforementioned 1000 lumen throw monster has run out of juice. Of course the flashlight elitest might say, But I'll just put my Li-Ion battery on the charger and I'll be good to go. That might be the case, but it might take hours to recharge that 18650 cell (depending on the charger of course) and what if you needed that light because of a power outage? What's supplying the power to the charger? This light is perfect for around the house, or emergencies, EDC, backpacking, the glove box of your car or any situation that requires a flashlight short of strapping it to your zombie blasting weapon of choice, but I personally don't see that as a minus. My only real gripe in regards to the mini maglite pro+ is that it's water resistant not waterproof. In summation, a great all around, made in the USA, well priced light. You really can't go wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little light This is a great little light in the traditional form of the original incandecant lights. It has a very bright controllable illumination area as you would expect from MagLite. Only 1/2 inch longer that the original Mini MagLite and using the same AA batteries it outshines it's predicessor. Focusing them both on the same target you cant eve tell the older light is eve on. All of my old assesories work fine wit the Pro+. If you need to save power or just dont need the extra illumination just turn it on pointed down at the ground for less light and longer operation on one set of batteries. This is a super little light!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Addition To My Camera Bag I do a lot of night photography and sunrise/sunsets. Numerous times I have found myself fumbling around in the dark trying to setup my camera and tripod because I couldn't see what I was doing. The Mini Maglite Pro+ was just what the doctor ordered. The flashlight is small making it easy to handle, puts out an extremely bright light and doesn't take up a lot of space in my camera bag. I also found the flashlight when trying to auto-focus in dark conditions. A little pricey for such a small flashlight, but trust me you get your monies worth. I highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright Mini Maglite! I love Maglite's product since forever. Recently my mini Led lite had a battery burn out/exploded inside the case and I could not remove them out of the light. Forgot to change them since LED light never burns out:) (Out of warranty, and after 9 years of use!). So I decided it was time to Purchase another one. Looked around and found out about the Pro+ mini. They said it may not be as bright as other torch lights but when I received this I put the batteries in and turn it on and Wow! It was Bright!!!! Really impressed and glad I got the upgrade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Same great design, amazing brightness Same solid, no-frills design that made the original a classic for the last couple decades. The LED is amazingly bright in full-power mode. The 25% mode is a perfect complement for when you need something more subtle, such as for backstage work. The 25% power mode is accessed by turning the flashlight on while pointing it down. Turning it on while holding it at any other angle defaults to the 100% power mode. I appreciate how Mag was able to add a dual brightness functionality without adding any moving parts or bulk. I hope this mechanism proves to be as durable as the rest of the unit. The adjustable beam feature is not as effective as it was with the old incandescent version since the LED is already very directional, but that's always been mostly a gimmick anyway.Lastly, it's definitely a bit pricey for what it is, but given how previous units have lasted me over 10 years each, the longevity makes the price a bit easier to justify.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Maglite doing it right I had the Pro and found it too bright at times in tight places. Know I have the best of both worlds. Super bright and dim. I have packed a Mini Mag since 1988 using it doing HVAC and Appliance work. First an analog, then LED, then the Pro, and now the Pro+. Wouldn't be without one. Now all I need is a forever battery .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad I bought it. At first I was reluctant of buying a pricey flashlight, because well, its a flashlight. However, once I turned it on I realized how handy and powerful this thing is! If you happen to be looking for one for whatever reason photography wise, just get this one, you wont regret it. The adjustable beam is worth alone the price. I do slow paced portraiture and sometimes during night time the auofocus light just wont reach out but the maglite does the trick. I dont have to use modeling lights anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great camping/general purpose flashlight Best uses:-Camping-Emergency, just in case-Travel-Professional/Industrial (engineers, mechanics, home inspectors, etc..)Not optimal (will explain further):-Tactical/Law EnforcementThe dimension is nearly identical with the classic mini maglite back in the 80's and the same level of high construction quality one can expect from maglite. The differences are the light output (this Pro+ model can give out an amazing 245 Lumens) and the low output model which activated by pointing the light down.It is good for almost any situation where a small and powerful light is needed. It is also cheap enough that you can buy them as emergency flashlight (which you put away until you need it one day).It is bad for tactical/law enforcement because it lacks a tail cap switch and there is a very, very small but noticeable delay between the light being switched on and light comes out. That is a non-issue in most situation but in tactical situation that is undesirable. For battery consumption, I can't comment on much but there are detailed power consumption data you can google search yourself.
