IsoAcoustics ISO-L8R155 overview

  • 1Description

This pair of ISO-L8R155 Medium-Sized Studio Monitor Isolators prevent the transfer of speaker cabinet energy to surrounding surfaces, effectively isolating the speaker. By allowing the speaker to perform in free space, it's able to sound the way it was intended.

The height and tilt angle of the ISO-L8R155 are adjustable to optimize speaker positioning relative to the listener. The 2 included sets of height tubing along with 2 sets of end-plug pairs provide 14 steps of height adjustment. The different combinations are used to tilt the speaker up and down. The stand can be assembled and reconfigured repeatedly to establish the ideal position.

The ISO-L8R155 isolators are designed to support medium-sized monitor speakers no heavier than 35 pounds. They can be set to raise your speakers either 3" or 8" from the supporting surface.

    IsoAcoustics ISO-L8R155 reviews

ISO-L8R155 Medium-Sized Studio Monitor Isolators (Pair) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good sound These stands really improve the sound of desktop monitor speakers. They are a great idea. Having said this, they are not compatible with all decor styles as they are very utilitarian in appearance. Note they raise the speakers up several inches off the desk. These stands are made of plastic, rubber, and metal. The metal parts are the posts that connect the top and bottom plinths. The top and bottom plinths are made out of plastic. These are really a great idea, but I wish they were a little more solidly made and a little less utilitarian in appearance. They are kind of expensive for what they are.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have for studio monitors or bookshelf speakers I didn't know about these, and I always tried to have something under my speakers to (a) hold the cabinets firm so the drivers have a solid area to pulse from, and (b) to isolate the speaker from any vibrations on the desk from spinning hard drives or whatever. I frequently put my speakers on cork pads or mouse pads, but these are the proper solutions with firm rubber to hold the cabinets in place while isolating them from the desk or floor. I do wish there were a little more of a size description provided by the manufacturer though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ingenious design I bought these monitor stands/isolators for my home desktop recording setup. Previously, I used the foam isolators that came with my monitors (Equator D5s) and while the foam did somewhat decouple the monitors from the desk they resided on, replacing them with the Isoacoustics stands provided an instant improvement in clarity that was not subtle. Furthermore, the monitors now resided at ear height, which is crucial to proper monitoring. I have no hesitation in recommending these as a solution for decoupling monitors from the surface they reside on, resulting in a great improvement in clarity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You must get these stands for accurate sound and image. I was a little skeptical about these stands when I first read about them, but I decided to go for it anyway. Man, these isoacoustic stands are amazing. After some adjustments with heights and angles with my Klipsch R-15PMs, I was able to zero in on my listening area. The speakers actually play louder and the bass is definitely tighter. The midrange is more balanced and the high end is clear. The stands definitely isolate the speakers and there is no resonance or vibration on my desk. Just a hair pricey but worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do you really want to use foam??? Very happy with these stands! They hold my Focal's perfectly...very adjustable in every direction...look great...light, but sturdy...perfect!!! Such a better option than foam! I can't believe people slap foam on their walls, under their monitors, under subs...the price of foam looks better at first than buying a real product, but once it's in your hands and you realize what you bought and what you paid for it, you should feel like a chump! Live and learn and put the foam purveyors out of business...they propagate one of the biggest scams in the business!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from very effective The stands can be high or low and tilted back or not. There are not multiple steps. I think the cost was hight, but I heard a significant improvement than the monitor place right on a office desk. It made my affordable Tannoy monitors come to life! I like them better than my Mackie HR824 now. On the tall legs the Mackie HR824 felt too wobbly. I don't know the weight rating, but I ended up using the short legs kicked back as shown in the product picture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish and Functional I am using these with a pair of Behritone C5A monitors. The base is slightly smaller than the footprint of the C5A, yet its just enough that it looks correct and the monitor sets on it just fine. The isolation makes the C5As sound better than just resting on a bridge. In a room with a black backdrop behind the C5As, these stands make the C5As appear to be floating in air. For the height, isolation, size, and cost, these stands cannot be beat.
