Feet too close together

Nice build but with a fatal flaw. When extended the feet are too close together. My Nikon D7200 with a 16-80 lens ended up in the bushes when a LIGHT wind blew it over. Had to send it back because it can't be trusted with even a small camera/lens on it.

Perfect tripod

I purchased this tripod mostly for the purpose of using my Nikkor 300 mm f2.8 lens for videography. I have mounted a Manfrotto 502 AH video fluid head atop the tripod, then my lens with teleconverter and either a gripped Nikon D810 or my Nikon Z6. Occasionally I mount the Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 with teleconverter along with a Nikon D3400 attached on top of my primary camera. My various setups weigh between 12-15 lbs. Pros - the tripod is extremely light, yet very strong and sturdy. I have not experienced any shake or concerns as I pan/tilt the camera & lens for either sports or birds in flight. I am 5'10" and the tripod height is perfect when I'm standing. The light weight was important to me, as I get older I do not wish to carry more weight. This tripod appears very solidly built and I hope it's the last one I buy (though I may get another Feisol with a shorter folded length for air travel). Cons - the legs fold down beyond parallel, so they will bump into each other, but this is a minor distraction. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this tripod - light weight yet very solid. For its cost, this is a very good value in my opinion.

Excellent quality tripod. Very lightweight but stable. I got the spike feet which help for outdoor use.

Excellent Tripod with a Few Flaws

I bought this tripod years ago, even before B&H was selling them. I don't think you can find a tripod this size that doesn't weigh at least a pound more. Even without a center column, I can easily work with it at eye level or even a bit above (I'm 5'10). And it's extremely well built. It's been absolutely reliable mechanically -- everything on it works as well as it did the day I bought it. I can only see two nits to pick. First, as one other reviewer mentioned, the leg angles are steeper than other tripods, giving it a narrower stance. That could make it easier to tip over if you're not careful. Second, most tripod legs have a limit to how far inward they'll fold when you fold them up for carrying. Most tripod legs stop when they're roughly parallel. The Feisol's legs keep going past parallel and if you're not careful, you can get them tangled up with each other. That's a minor thing, though, and it's not too hard to live with.

Love it!!!

I purchased it after seeing a friend of mine with it. It is sturdy, flexible and just the right height. Yes, I would recommend this tripod to anyone who wants to make an investment in a really good tripod.

Beefy tripod, love it for astrophotography. Fully extended, it's tall enough to view those deep space objects overhead without being a yoga master and yet the tripod remains solid.

Depending on the head that you place on this, it should be a sufficient eye level being that it has a max height of 55.9".
